My CX bike will pretty much just be for fun too...more of a "commuter" than anything. I wanted something else with gears but have come to like cross geo over typical road bike geo.
There are a lot of pretty gnarly hills here and I get a little bored with killing myself to climb (and descend) them all the time.
I love bikes.
