Doing one of my favorite trails up in Va, New River Trail, 100 miles of gravel, zero cars.

Edit - since is the road forum, I could def ride it on my road bike which has 32s, it's pretty smooth/fast gravel, but I'll be taking the gravel bike because I don't want to scratch up the new road bike.

with things starting to open up here in socal, predicting mdw will be even crazier than usual. the beaches are starting to open up, joshua tree national park just reopened. national forest/state park campgrounds not open yet but seems like it could happen any day leading up to the holiday weekend. trying to stay away from weekend holiday beach and mountain traffic will be the right call. will probably do an urban dtown los angeles ride or hit the palos verdes peninsula.

Heading up to the Asheville NC area. Will be doing some road and mountain rides. Preparing to get a lesson as to how out of shape I am due to only riding on the flat roads down here in SW Florida.

If I get my replacement brake caliper in time I'm planning on doing a 63+ mile bike ride in order to complete this month's Strava Gran Fondo challenge, and get me back into higher mileage territory. So far since I got back my longest rides have been around 32 miles, but I think I've got my legs back enough to go for it.

If the weather cooperates I would like to ride the colonial parkway from Yorktown to Jamestown and back. Looking like rain the last time I checked.

If the weather cooperates, I'll head out to some of the rural scenic byways up north in Wisconsin away from the rails-to-trails and MUPs that will be packed with oblivious dog-walkers and families with matching Huffys. The trails in the city have been crazy any time the sun is out and I'm guessing the holiday will have the state trails pretty busy as well.

Planned Saturday morning ride was rained out, so 30 miles on the trainer going nowhere. However planning an early morning ride Sunday with wife and her cousin on Arkansas River Trail. Monday looks like more rain :-( maybe it will pass.

We drove into Chicago to see family for a necessary visit. So the bikes were brought and a short 10mi ride happened today. Tomorrow morning I'm heading out on a 45mi ride of roads and canal stone paths.

45mi and probably 500' of climb because Chicagoland is as flat as Florida.

I usually do my first mountain pass ride of the season on Monday. This year, I'll just do some workouts on my rollers, anticipating that things might be crazy out there and wanting to stay healthy.

Ride to the lake for fishing w/ son & grandkids.

The bunch of them rode 16 miles & 1500' on dirt the other week- including the 6 year old.

I'm originally from WV and now looking at this as a possible stop off this summer when I go visit my parents. I've got a gravel/cyclocross bike, but my wife doesn't do you think this would be doable on 27's? And looking at the website is there a certain portion you would recommend if we can't do it all? Perhaps able to do half of it, recommendations of where to stay and start. Much appreciation.

Ended up doing two rides over the weekend with about 3300 total feet of climbing over about 50 miles. Quite a bit of climbing for a Florida boy who’s used to flat steady rides. A nice change for sure.
