Frame geometry and design resources
Can folks recommend some good resources to learn more about frame geometry and design? Likely printed on dead trees (aka books), but on the interwebs is great too.
I've read some basic stuff on angles, rake, and trail but want something deeper. I read some headier posts here and there, recently started reading Bicycle Quarterly, and read some of Riv's lit. From these later sources I have gleaned that there are lots of subtleties gained over years of riding various frames over the years. I don't have the budget to buy a new bike every year so my sample size of experience with different frames is less than some. However, as I ramp up to getting a new steel road frame built I would like to become more conversant in the subtleties of frame geometry, tube selection, and general design. My hope is this will help me help my builder build a better frame. My last go around with a custom bike I simply didn't know how to respond too many of the questions asked. I was very fortunate that Mike DeSalvo built me a great frame and fork, but this time I want to be more involved.
