Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Saw the dentist today, twice in as many weeks. Can testify that a toothache takes the joy out of a ride.

Replaced the stock Andel crankarms on my Wabi Lightning with the Sugino 75 takeoffs from my Bianchi Super Pista Concept when I installed the New Sugino 75 DD crankset. Also installed a TangeSeiki sealed cartridge BB instead of the old Sugino 75 unsealed BB. In addition to looking much better, the Wabi dropped 0.2 lbs, and now weighs an even 15 lbs. I also replaced the old Shimano PD-7401 pedals on the Dolan Pre Cursa with some new Genetic Syngenic pedals that are about 1/4 lbs lighter and include a tension release force indicator. The Pre Cursa now weighs 18.5 lbs, which is exactly the same as my 2011 khaki Soma Rush.

No. I just installed it clean and dry, and tightened the piss out of it by putting the tool in my bench vise and using the frame as a giant lever.

I always put a little grease on the threads -- certainly no locktite

Grease is good when you mix steel and aluminum threads, because there can be a chemical reaction between those materials that can cause them to seize and make it nearly impossible to remove w/o destroying the threads. Otherwise, there is no need to use grease if the BB threads are clean and chased.

Also, it's Loctite (tradename), not locktite.

Stem doesn't look too long, the bullhorns look kinda short tho, or maybe they're chopped drops

I cut down the horns from my Wabi like that when I put them on my Vilano, and ruined them in the process. I found out that there wasn't enough room even for my small hands, so they had nothing to hold onto. Big mistake.
