Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I thought this when I got it years back, but the price from the LBS cleanout was just way way too good. It's aged well for a 2015/2016 bike. The headset area isn't modern aero but I semi integrated the bar/stem using a triathlon aero stem that fit the aero bars well.

In other words, there's no "round" spot on the handlebars facing the wind. Only aero shapes. Most of your EC90 or Zipps have the round part of the clamp area. This clamps top top to bottom, not front/back.

Bike IS filthy. It was the last ride of the year and the roads were lousy.
Changing mirrors this spring, it sucks.
Reflectors got to go! Agreed.
I like platform pedals, I need to buy something smaller, agreed.
I like the bag, I put keys, wallet and cellphone in it.
Can't really address the cables, it's the way it was setup by the LBS.
I think you're seeing a bolt for the dock and not the wheel magnet. It's pretty small.

A small flat neodymium magnet and some superglue is your friend.

Correct.

Stage the bike, remove the "stuff", and take another pic.

Stage the bike.

Yeah, white around the drivetrain wasn't the most practical choice...

Uh? A hub based speed sensor on the rear wheel is hidden nicely and costs about the same. I've no idea why people use this fidgety magnet and strap business.

Also, the computer on the bike is "good enough" for most uses.

I only use my wheel based speed sensor if doing really really nerdy time trial data gathering stuff needing the instantaneous accuracy of a sensor instead of GPS.

I've no idea why the magnet thing is still a thing.

My MadOne has a speed/cadence senor built into the chainstay, so a tiny small magnet is all I needed. I guess I sort of forgot that other manufacturers may not do that :-)

Clamshell behind the saddle isnt something I've ever been drawn to.
That paint is really neat though. Almost makes up for the integrated seatpost.

Yeah, not a fan of those bars and the loose front brake hose bugs me, but definitely hot.

What cages and how are they?

That's a 130mm. I'm 5'10" and had a 56cm MadOne with a 130 as well. With the 130, the Giant is still a little shorter in the reach department then the Trek, which is what I wanted for the race I'm doing in May. I'll switch those bars out at some point...They are Easton EC90 SL Aero's, so I'll have to drop a pretty penny to not downgrade.

The 130mm stem allows me to get low and aero. It's taken a while to get comfortable in this position, but the gains are worth it. (me on my MadOne)

I thought about removing them, but removing just the lawyer stickers took about 20 minutes with a hair dryer, WD-40, and a bunch of rags. I might get the wild hair eventually, but Giant definitely doesn't mess around with their adhesives

I recommend 3T Aeronova.

Haven't used those actual bars myself, but I have three of the Toseek copies, and the shape is absolutely fantastic (although I trimmed about 40mm off the drops). The tops drop slightly so the centre at the start of the shoulders is about level with the bottom of the bar in the clamp, offering you a tad more drop.

The original Aeronova is a pretty high end bar, I'd say at least on par with EC90.

That paint is pretty outstanding for a stock color.
I'm a bit of a freak so the extreme non-anatomicness of the bars does it for me on this build. Wabi sabi.
