Civilian Luddite
I just ordered my first mountain bike, and 29er, as the title states a Civilian Luddite, size small. I am coming from riding road bikes, and bought this to mess around a bit in the city, and hitting some trails and singletrack. Do you think that I will have any issue hitting stairs and ledges or getting airborne a bit? Not huge ledge drops but around 4-5 feet at the most.
Either way, I look forward to getting the most out of this bike.
Happy Riding.

Five feet drop on a rigid fork is going to hurt a bit. Stairs and the like shouldn't be a problem, but I would only ride with some proper cushioned gloves to take the edge off. Maybe I'm a wimp though. Congrats on your purchase, the bike looks very fashionable.

Pick ones with nicely-sloped transitions or launch 'em at speed; otherwise, you're going to find the landing pretty harsh.
