Velobase says these cranks use a 111 mm BB axle. SurferRosa have you fitted these to a bike yet? And if yes what BB did you need?

Thanks folks. SurferRosa yes thankfully the crank arms are the same length. I'm not bothered if they are from a few years apart as they are both in great condition.
So if 71 is from a later year, and assuming if 41 is 1988, 51 is 1989, I guess 71 makes my left crank arm a 1991 which according to Velobase is the last year for that version, and the next generation of Chorus was released in 1992.
And I got confirmation today that the frame my cranks are going on, arrives tomorrow, 9 long and anxious weeks after being posted. There will be much shiny-ness, build pics will be coming soon.

I bought a bunch of Campy items in the early 90's, crankset, brakes, hubs and rear wheel and a seat post. All of it is either Athena or Chorus but it was a strange time then because IIRC, Campy would take the Chorus line and the next year the exact Chorus would become Athena. They then called the items "New Chorus" or "Chorus" (old version) and similar for Athena. I can't remember if the New Chorus was the year earlier's Record or not. I don't think it was as there was a more noticeable step-down between the two.
So when asking if Athena or Chorus is better, it may be that they are actually the same depending on the year. Not sure how many years they did this but it got confusing, much the same way that everything Campy does!
I honestly don't know if my crank is Chorus or Athena or New or Old but it is beautiful. Same with the brakes, absolute sculpture although the finish does get slight blemishes in the anodization over the years. See my thread about polishing Campy parts for pics.
Everything works well despite the age although I'm in the process of upgrading to a dual pivot front brake (I want stronger braking from the hoods) and I also need 10 speed chainrings for the narrow 10 chain I'm running now (the 10 speed chain will sometimes spin freely between the rings when shifting down to the small chainring.)

It's either Chorus or Croce d'Aune because of the self extracting crank bolts.
Croce d'Aune cranks basically became Chorus cranks in the early 90's. Yours are interesting that there is a lip on the arm side of the crank bolt hole. I've seen that on (early?) C-Rec cranks, but never on Chorus/CdA cranks. If you can be bothered checking the date codes pre '92 means they are CdA, post '92 Chorus.

I want to buy the $36 Token (Tawainese?) ISO 111mm model, but I've read so many conflicting accounts on required spindle length.
Folks used to buy the Veloce bb for these cranks, I think. And I assume people buy the Centaur bb these days. The Centaur comes in 111 and 115.5mm, which adds confusion.
At some point, I want to start the end-all thread on this matter (dagnabit!) and also discuss pre-ISO Campy.

Sorry if I didn’t follow everything above, but you mentioned Athena. If you’re using a 1st gen Athena crank, BB spindle should be 116mm (or the 115.5 is close enough obviously).

Edit: looking through the docs I have, Athena group had the D0H0 BB (noted as 116 in 1988 but don’t have details for other years if it happened to change) through 1990, 1991 unknown, and 1992-1999 takes a BB-01AT(IT) or BB-03AT(EN) with 111mm (later years add CART to model for I guess sealed bearing).

I have fitted my cranks to the 111mm Campag BB, and I must say I'm not convinced they are the right ones.
Admittedly I am not familiar with these cranks so don't know what it should look like, but when fitted the crank arms look noticeably further out on the spindle compared to the newer style Chorus I have on other bikes that use a 102mm BB. Maybe I'm just expecting it to be flush and it just wasn't for that model.
I have not fitted up the cables yet, but have fitted the front derailleur and when I pull it out to its outer position it comes out far enough to get the chain over the outer chain ring on the crank, so maybe it is fine after all. But I was a bit reluctant to plough on the cabling and everything if this looks off.
Here is a pic of the cranks on and done up tight, does this gap look acceptable? P!N20 Does the gap on my cranks look comparable to how yours look?

If the small ring clears the chainstay, the first thing I check is chainline. Check Sheldon's site for the specifics. I think he says the middle of a double should measure around 43-44mm from the center of the seat tube. So the small ring measures around 40mm and the big ring is 46mm (or so).

@botty kayer, I just installed my '88 Chorus crankset onto a Token ISO 111mm bb, and the chainline looks pretty good.

I was definitely worried. Especially with the Victory rear mech taking up the chain between the 53 and 39t rings. But I think it's gonna work. Shifting is still smooth. Gotta be faster than the Triomphe crank's 52t, right?
