Need to replace jockey rings--1st-gen Kogel?
I have an Ultegra 8000 derailleur, and I was planning on replacing my jockey rings. Shimano replacements are $20, and they seem to work fine, but Kogel is blowing out their gen1 12-tooth pulleys for $59 and the 11-tooth ceramic bearing pulleys for $89. Other than bling factor (which can't hurt--I already have a gold headset and gold bar-end Muc-Off patch kit), will I notice a difference?

Nothing wrong with bling, if you like it and can afford it. Gold on bikes generally isn't my thing, personally.
I do have Omni Racer alloy pulleys on my RD, and if they are louder in any way than the stock Dura Ace pulleys, I do not notice it.

If I read your note, you really, really want to have the cool idler (jockey) wheels. And you're kind if asking for encouragment here. If the cool golden wheels will give you $30 (the difference in cost) of pleasure, go for it. For me, one of my metrics is how silent my bike setup is. Rattling or grinding or other noises in my bike drive me crazy. In other bikes, it gives me a sense of superiority.
I have to think that the metal plus ball bearing would only be slightly noisier than a plastic wheel. Could be wrong. But for me, quiet beats gold plated.
They do look cool, though. They are certainly proud of those things!
