Finished and Wonderful

Just finished my daughters frame. Took 11 months to complete, went through a lot of learning, and it has been worth it. Took out on a trial run and while it is too small for a full out beat on ride, it feels good. The long chain stays feel wonderful as it tracks a straight line like an old Schwinn I toured on decades ago. Yes, gotta have a sign on the back warning of wide turns, but how often does one turn anyway? Tomorrow I will take it out again just to be sure setup is correct. Looking forward to it. Supreme satisfaction.

Sounds great! It is really cool when you (and your loved ones) ride your creations. Andy

Have one I took yesterday. Man, it shows up as a gigantic pic. Will see if it can be resized. In the meantime you will at least be able to see some of it. All of the parts came from donor bikes. Starting to think about making one for me.

I have a 42" monitor, so it all fits on screen. The bike looks great. I usually scale my photos using gimp. The forum software used to resize automatically, but I guess this version doesn't have that plugin

Very nice. I like the seat stay caps, did you make them?

Can't get used to the camera phone. Images are always off center. Always.

Nice job. Did you make the fork and if so, is that chrome on the lower half?

Photos look fine for me.

Love the finish on the seat stays. Fwiw I use an Android app called "SnapSeed" that's a great little image editor.

The seat stays are capped with a scrap from Reynolds 531 top tube I have had for years. The rest of the top tube is on the bike where it belongs. Someone posted pics of caps they made and it inspired me to do the same. The rest of the tubes are RC2 True Temper. The fork is not mine, wish it was, but I don't have the confidence to build one myself. Safety first. It is from a Fuji Royale, 1985 vintage. Paint is courtesy of Rustoleum rattle can. Lots of runs and soft as butter. Inner tube wrapped on the drive side chain stay to protect the tube from rust by preventing chips.

Nice long chain stays as it will be fitted with panniers and lots of room for big bags is a good idea.
