1982 Peugeot PXN-10
This 1982 (per the serial number) PX-10 variant (the N denotes factory clincher) wears its original well-earned patina well and is ready to ride. I've owned and enjoyed this since 2011, even ridden some local centuries on it. AFAIK, I'm the second owner.
Top tube is ~56cm center to center, the seat tube ~56cm c-c. Standover of 32 1/2". The bike as pictured is for my 5'11" height w/fairly normal proportions, so could easily fit someone a few inches shorter, particularly as the stem is just a little short for me.
Reynolds 531 double butted tubing throughout. Simplex SX410 and SJA102 derailleurs, Spidel (Mafac) LS2 caliper brakes and levers w/good Mafac hoods (one cracked adjuster cover-cosmetic), Spidel (Simplex) retrofriction shifters, Maillard Professsional 700 hubs with 700c Rigida alloy clincher rims, 13-26 freewheel, Stronglight 106 crankset (52/42) and Stronglight BB, (LaPrade style) Simplex seatpost and Ideale 2001 saddle, Atax bars and Atax "Peugeot" stem, Lightrace headset. Cool stitched-on handlebar wrap. Even has the OE spoke protector.
Bike has had a full maintenance. Every bearing re-greased at a minimum, some were replaced. The linked pics include a couple shots of the bottom bracket assembly and shell, to give an idea of overall component and internal frame condition.
I have a set of Maillard CXC pedals with clips and straps, not original, but of the period. And I've replaced cables and housings. The only other component change I've made since purchase is the front derailleur (came to me w/a Suntour). It's an SJA102, but w/o the "sunburst" present on the cage of the earlier version. And I stuck a new decal on the rear derailleur to match the new front one. Good chance I replaced the chain, but I really don't recall. The tires are near the end of their useful life, but I rode them a couple weeks ago on a 25miler that included some rough pave.
Original paint. Patina but no problem rust. The rust on/around the cable guides looks worse in the pics than it really is, IMO. I haven't even bothered with converter. No dents. Chrome is in very good shape. Pics of warts included. No touch-up paint applied. Just a nice coat of protective wax.
The last five pics show the frame clearances with 29mm (actual width) tires (someone had asked). The bike has 23s now, I think 25s/26s would be a good choice for wider tires. YMMV.

Considering that this needs new rubber, I'm asking $375 + shipping (CONUS). Bike is in Birmingham, AL. EDIT: I have another set of two tires, also used, but better shape, that match the set on the bike. So you'd have 4 to mix/match and wear out before you'd have to buy new. If interested, I'd throw then in for an additional $15.

Does that mafac brake lever have the plastic housing outside of it or is one of those ones with no housing? I'm looking for hoods for mine

I have a bike w/Delrin bodied levers, but these are not like them. On my Delrin levers - no hoods.

A lot of us love the bike, it just doesn't fit us. For those of you who do,the Super Competition has outstanding, quick handling and all it needs is a Simplex 5500 rear derailleur to be totally top of the line. The brazing and QC are very good on these as well.

Since I can't figure out how to stretch this bike to 62cm I'm bumping it back to the top; an exceptional deal.

I'm tempted, too. It's the same color as my 1979 that was stolen when it was new. And it's my size. But [sigh] my home is full. Maybe one day I'll get one of these.
