Togs Thumb grip
Has anyone out there added the Togs Thumb grip on their Brompton? I ordered a pair for less than $20.00 dollars and figured what can I lose. If no one has tried these thumb grips I'll post a short review when I get to try them.

I'd be interested to hear what you have to say. I think they're an interesting idea. I thought about getting some but then ended up switching to new grips which actually solved my particular hand issues but I'm still curious.

I'm not sure if there will be enough room for the Togs on the older M bar. I'm riding with cut off Ergon grips. There's not much space there but it seems worth the try. I think they would be best on my 2 speed as I ride out of the saddle a lot .

I have used the double grip shift Ergon on my older M3L,
added fill of round grip,
rather than saw off length of the full width grip..
never seen the 'Togs Thumb grip', so I went looking :
I'll Pass... they have a Carbon one
I read, In US, a Shop with a QBP account can get them , too..

As far as the Brompton is concerned I'm going to have to cutdown the grip. I've ordered a hacksaw but not sure if I'm going to cut the grip. I really think you should use ESI grips that can easily be cut off to fit with your hands. I tried the thumb grips on my mountain bike this weekend and found them to be too far away for them to work well. I put them on my Micro Kickboard and they feel good. I'm still deciding whether to cut down my Ergon grips on the Brompton from 115mm to 110mm to get the thumb grips to fit. The Micro Kickboard has 110mm grips and that seems to be the size for me to get the best use of the thumb grips. Now this will be different for everyone depending on the size of their hands . I can see if you want to stay away from bar ends these thumb grips do help but they are no replacement for a good pair of bar ends.

The reason I like bar ends is they give you a grip which realigns the hand and wrist, a nice change when riding long periods. The thumb grips - if I understand them correctly - let you shift positions and still grip but you don't get to rotate the arm angle.

I need some sort of hooks on the handlebars to attach hoops of my rain cape, so these look like an interesting proposition - not sure about Brompton where handlebars are crowded to the limit, but some other bike.

On my M3L Brompton, I have the double grip-shift GR3, and I ,
added short sections of round grip rather than cut off, any .
The SRAM i 9 has a wide grip-shifter, so the round grip is added to the left
(on a Straight bar..) with another GR 3 Set. .... On my Bike Friday 'Season Tikit' ..

Togs Thumb grips were designed for mountain bikes. With the new longer handlebars being used no one uses bar ends any more. They offer a little more control where bar ends were being used. I find they work well with scooters as they give you more hold on the bars as you are kicking back.
