Converting from 10 to 11 speed

I am currently using an Ultegra compact Crankset on my 10 speed Felt F55. Will a new Ultegra 11 speed shifter require that I will need a new front derailleur or will my current Dura-Ace front derailleur work?

Upgradeitis..

Question? what you expect to gain by adding 1 more cog
onto a densely packed rear cassette,?
which will necessitate buying a whole new expensive brifter as well
and changing the hub driver..

The Shoving the chain from one chain ring to the other
is a pretty simple task ,

So I expect the Front D can stay ..

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

In answer to your question, they are officially incompatible but they are relatively close in cable pull in my experience. You might give it a try and see if it works acceptably for you, bur the more recent front derailleurs do work better, and if you're going to the trouble of upgrading a high end bike you may as well take all the steps to get it running awesome instead of simply well.

I'd ask the same question fietsbob is asking. Why? There is nothing to be gained.

The 6800 and R8000 front derailleurs are both around $33 new. If you really want that extra cog, just buy the new FD. The shifting will be markedly better, and you'll probably spend more on the chain.
