Choosing correct setup.
Hello,
I have a roadie, MTB, and cross bike. The MTB is set 2x along with the cross bike. I am wanting to convert the cross bike to 1x and making it a stupid light build. How does a XC MTB hardtail measure up to gravel riding? Anyone have another wheelset they use to run smaller tires, say 42mm, etc? Does this impact the geo? The gnarliest gravel race I have ever done is the Rasputitsa. Otherwise the gravel where I live is very dry with a lot of pavement. 70/30 split. Another option would be to keep the 2x and upgrade to a lighter groupset along with wheels. Thank you for your time.
