Thanks for posting the photos, Malcala! I wish they'd finish with this high speed rail thing so I could shoot down there every month for the ride.

Lovin' the Motta too! I'd heard about them being painted in the Italian colors, but this is the first time I've seen one in a USA paint scheme. Very nicely done! A factory paint job, or a respray?

Great work man, thank you and please do keep it up. How many do you think came? I would sure like to see this in PDX. And when was the last time we saw a shop that repairs saddles, bikes or horses?

There were may be a total of 20 riders that day and the bicycles that showed up were just amazing.

Ive never seen a store like that so I wondered if they can treat old brooks saddles as well. I myself dont use brooks but have fellow cyclists that do and it doesnt hurt to find out.

Perfect weather at around 75 and topping out at 80. The last leg of the ride gave us downhills and tailwinds.

I suspect they are talking horse saddles being near the parade zone, most good shoe shops will work on at least the leather of Brooks, etc.

Hey, Miguel, thanks for posting. I'm Steve, the guy on the green Raleigh. It was great riding and talking with you. You got my arm in your selfie, but you got my bike at the pizza stop, thanks. The highlight of my day was seeing the 1935 Raleigh Record Ace. It's not often I see a bike older than me. See you next time!

Hey Steve!!! I tried get as many riders in the pictures as I could during the red lights but I was blind by the bright sun.

Nice Raleigh btw

That 35' Raleigh was something else. Ive never seen a bike that old and single speed. Rider didn't even break a sweat in his tweed sweater.

Super cool, thanks for sharing pics of the ride (and the lean against the wall).

Wish there were a regular C&V ride out here. Will look you and the group up the next time I'm in SoCal with a day to spare and an acceptable ride

Nice Super Course! I have one as a frame hanging in my shop, I know now exactly how to repaint it!

You can see more on "Show us your Super Course". It was an alley find frame that I stripped and painted Toyota Spruce Mica, non stock for Raleigh, but it's like a BRG with a little gold flake. I'm very happy with it. Great ride, my first restoration, or resto mod with Sugino triple and Suntour VGT Luxe.

Thanks for all the pics. First month I wasn't able to make it due to my daughter's hospital stay.

If anyone wants to come down and ride but doesn't have a bike, I suspect many of the regular riders have spare bikes in many different sizes that could suffice if we could get advance notice. Depends on what pedals and shoes you would use too.

Here's my current rider from Eroica 2017, Italvega Super Speciale, circa 1972

Also, it doesn't take much to start a vintage or C&V ride, just pick a good regular date and time, and get it advertised in CL, Bike Forums, Classic Rendezvous or whatever social media you can muster. May start slow at first but there's enough of old and new riders who would probably enjoy a nice ride without speed pressure.

A good route reasonably free of traffic at the time you're riding, and a liberal interpretation of what bikes to allow is helpful. Its all about the fun of riding, and no one should be turned away for the bike they are riding.

Heck, I ride with the Portland C&V gang... on my Gold Rush recumbent. It's almost 20 years old.

I probably helps that I worked in the bicycle business starting in 1979. I started at B&H Cycle when it was on Mission Street in South Pasadena. It looks like these rides go right past that location.

At the Pasadena ride, most of the bikes are vintage, but there's often a rider or two that comes out on a modern carbon bike. No ones cares, or gives them any flak about it. Everybody's been super welcoming. There are always plenty of beautiful bikes to drool over, but lower end bikes are usually well represented too. Don't think you need a show bike to come enjoy the ride.
