I think the Tange Passage is less stack but doesn’t look as nice (not that the Levin CDS is a big looker or anything).

Thank you. The CDS is definitely an option on the menu if I can’t find something from back in the day soon enough. The stack is pushing the limit a tad, sans washer and/or facing the headtube, it should be doable.

UPDATE: Headset found. Search is over. Thanks all.

Iso some misc items in good or better condition.

#3678 left shifter spring. This is for a gold Simplex retrofiction shifter but these springs came in a bunch of simplex shifters. Stupidly I threw out a broken delrin shifter set just a few months ago with exactly what I need.

Suntour barcons or campy gran sport with downtube cable stop. Chrome hardware in nice condition. I have NOS suntour rubber covers so those dont need to be nice. I have one suntour shifter but it has a stripped mounting bolt so I would be open to one of those if you've got one. #19 in the diagram

Brooks pro or B17 special with copper rivets in excellent condition.

Nuovo record brake lever blade in nice condition. I have a set but one of them has road rash.

72 288mm DB spokes, silver

Rear nuovo record hub cone x2.

TA pro vis double crankset, preferably compact ish rings.

Shimano pd m520, m540, xt, etc pedals. Nice, no rash.

27.2 campy nr seatpost.

Titan stem 90 to 100mm and gb maes bar 40cm+ for '63 paramount.

First generation weinman 999 vainqueur brakes and levers for same paramount. I'm going in a different direction with it now but would still be interested in having these.

I'm in Toronto. Shipping is kind of expensive so ideally you have more than 1 of these things to make it worthwhile.

What condition? Got one in worn condition, 1989/1990 or thereabouts. Selle Italia (I think they may actually be stamped Sella Italia). Perfect for that heavy patina build but not much else, ha! Got lucky finding an identical eBay one little while back in much better condition but currently not for sale. Didn't try to clean this one or anything other than a quick wipe, had it on there when I took a few test rides. PM me if interested in this old saddle and I can dig it out and snap more pics.
Edit: since I'm pretty sure it was OEM on the '90 Giro, believe it to be Mundialta

The Brooks Pro's are back on the website with free ship after they said they weren't going to make them anymore.

EDIT: @Narhay sorry I'm wrong. I just remembered I gave the barcons to my friend Ben weekend before last. This covid-brain nonsense needs to go already...

As for me, I'll toss in a request also, since I'm kinda stuck. Found out someone tried to disassemble a left-hand shift lever and I can't seem to get it right ... so I'm desperately seeking a good, clean, better-than-average Shimano 6401 (Ultegra/tricolor grey) DT shifters like what's pictured.

As for the stuff I have to trade, see the pictures following that for stuff I'll never use and am happy to ship in exchange, open to shipping more than one thing - I'll trade everything if you have the levers I need *AND* you've got 8spd Shimano brifters in good shape! Notes on what I'm showing pics of for trading: Two 64xx tricolor braze-on FD, one has a little corrosion, one is really damn nice. One Suntour XC Pro FD, again, note the corrosion, needs some attention, and the scratch on the face, in the black area. Then I have these Shimano barcons which came off the same Pinarello, they may be a match but I really don't know.

What I need:

What I got:

Are you missing the entire spring, or is your spring damaged? If the spring is simply broken at the end, this may be of interest:

ISO size large drop bar Bar Mitts (thinking ahead), color is unimportant. I have a pair of blue size medium to trade. I've had these for a few years. They are fine until I decide I need thick gloves (not often). Though they have zippers and such for modern aero routing, I have always used them with my non-aero brakes with no problem. I suspect they are also designed for larger diameter modern bars. I just use a couple broken toe straps or velcro ankle bands to keep them from moving around.

A local friend gave me a pair of Nokian W240 studded tires this past winter. He only used them a few times. I used them three times over the winter. They got me on the bike when I'd have otherwise skipped the ride because of icy conditions. They wouldn't be my first choice, but they served the purpose. They are marked as 700cx40. In a couple pix you can see that I shaved a bit off the outer knobs to squeeze them into my Super Sport. Ideally, I'd trade for a pair of studded tires which are more commuter-ish, like 45NRTH Xerxes, but if you want them and have something else you'd like to get rid of, let me know.

ISO 87 Centurion Brake Levers and handlebars

Recently purchased an 87 Centurion Ironman Expert Women's and I'm very excited about the bike. Unfortunately, the brake levers and handlebars were replaced by black riser bars and matching brake levers. The rest of the bike has all original components. I'd like to stay as close to the original components as possible but I'm okay settling for compatible and functional.

ISO (1) Advice! If you know of any compatibility tips or common pitfalls, let me know!
(2) Nitto Olympiade 36cm handlebar
(3) Shimano SLR 105 Brake Levers
(4) Used hoods for the brake levers (ideally white but anything but black)

(5) Seat (the one on the bike is the original brown suede but very beat up so it looks black at this point)

I don't have anything to trade but I'm happy to pay. Please let me know if this conflicts with any group rules.

I restored one of these a couple of years ago. The brake hoods are the toughest part to find. The levers are easy to find used. I've got a pair I could send you. The problem is that the hoods for those levers are kind of uncommon, especially in white, so levers without hoods don't do you much good. There are some things available that "mostly fit" but the exact fit is specific to that model. Here's a thread I started about my attempts to revive a pair of damaged white hoods: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...od-repair.html Step 7 tells you exactly what you'll need to do. They turn up on eBay from time to time. The original Vetta saddle may be expensive to source too. The catalog (https://vintage-centurion.com/literat...on_Catalog.pdf) shows a white saddle.

Thanks for the input and the link to the magazine! Is there a difference between SLR 105 hoods and 105 hoods? I've been having trouble parsing what details are crucial looking on Ebay

The 105 hoods change frequently over time. If you want the exact levers that came with that bike you'll need BL-1051.

ISO - Look, steel lugged frameset, 59 or 60cm (ctc). Prefer a brazed on FD tab. Cosmetically challenged is acceptable.

Something affordable........

Never owned 753. No time like present.

edit: I've recently acquired a couple of parts to build a bike around

WTT: My Campagnolo Doppler shifters for your Simplex Retrofriction shifters. Edit: Found, thanks.

I need some Simplex (or Speidel or other rebranded) retrofriction shifters, braze-on or clamp-on, early or late style is fine. I have these Doppler shifters to trade, which are complete with all the washers/etc.

REVISED HUB DEAL: Now 2 for 1: remember this? I was asking to swap a 36-hole Tri-color front hub for the same in 32, this is the far left hub in this pic. Well in my continued search I find I have 2 hubs with 36-hole drilling and will trade BOTH of them for one 32-hole hub in very good condition (must have smooth bearing surfaces)
This second is almost as nice cosmetically as the first, and I will re-pack it before shipping, too.

ISO:
  • Suntour GPX Aero Brake Levers (or replacement hoods if those are even exist)
  • Suntour XC Pro + Grease Guard Front Hub (32h or 36h - I won't be picky)
  • Suntour XC Pro NDS (left) crank arm 170mm
  • Mavic Reflex SUP 700c rim (32h or 36h)
  • Nitto MTB heat treated riser 1" threaded stem in 80 - 100mm with 20ish deg rise (doesn't necessarily need to be Nitto)
*Bonus points if any of them were made in '89, but I'll take anything of the era

Looking to rebuild my '90 Bianchi Equinox that I just picked up and would like to get back to original spec/period correct as possible (front wheel was missing, GPX lever hoods were literally ripped off, and NDS crank was cracked).

I have some late 80s/early 90s Shimano MTB parts I'm willing to trade as well [XT (M730/2 and M735), DX]
