WC, Battery Failure Costs Potential Podium
Women's World Championship Road Race. Danish rider Uttrup Ludwig has her Di2 battery apparently die at the crucialmoment and is unable to follow key moves.

My take? From my sailboat racing days, especially off shore, KISS. Keep it simple! Especially on a bike that is going to see a completely different mechanic for that all-important event.
I know. Di2 is so reliable that this stuff never happens. Not at the top pro level.

So you haven't seen races where the old cable pulled DR's gave issues?

And Geriant Thomas couldn't find his Garmin. Multiple mechanics is one thing, but at this point, there's I'd bet that the number of riders using cable shifters is basically zero. I think all the major teams are running some version of electronic shifting, and of those, Shimano is by far the most common.

It's only a matter of time before someone electronically jams a bunch of them on a climb. Such stupidly unnecessary technology.
