I appreciate your assessment, @Drillium Dude, and agree about the color.
I am also picky about yellow, but the hue here is fantastic. I'm really, really happy with it.

Complete except for the "biodinamica" bottle/cage (on hand, just not on the bike yet). 2nd generation Nuovo Mexico, Columbus "Profil" 2 "groove/ribbed" top tube, 4 "groove/ribbed" down tube. Back in fully riding condition after a year of being idle.

Nope, no repaint. Just polished the frame and a coat of Collinite Fleet Wax. Assembly underway now.

Here's my mid 80's Super.
About as ubiquitous of a Colnago as they come but is a smooth, fun bike. Stickers and paint are a bit of a mess but, oh well.

I recently bought this one.

It was a bit of a gamble, because the one picture in the advertisement wasn't very clear.
Not a Master as I thought it might be, but an ESA- Mexico.
Needless to say, I'm delighted!

I recently bought this one.
Bianchi?
I noticed this Bianchi for sale but somehow it didn't look quite right. Those lugs and forkcrown looked very familiar.
Or is it !
So I collected it and set about revealing it's real identity. (With the aid of a soldering iron.)
This defenitely gives the game away!

So it is definitely a Colnago Super from around 1984 I guess.
As the paint job was quite good and I like the actual shade of Celeste on this bike I hope to preserve it. I must only find an acceptable way of covering the Bianchi lettering.

1975ish Colnago Super
Wow! A Colnago thread, so in case you missed it. I got this from a fellow BF member in November and have been riding it quite a bit. We are having summer like weather in Southern California so lots of riding . I really like this bike , even the old Cinelli saddle is perfect. I am thinking seriously of having Ed Litten paint it later in the year. I couldn’t even think about taking it apart right now. I am still in the new bike stage of ownership. The exact date of this bike is a bit of a mystery to me. From what I have read the fork crown feature puts it as a 1976 but I am told it is a 1975. It has short drop outs with the axel stop screw springs on the outside of the drop out. The paint is original and I love the color. The decals are replacements and the previous owner built it up from a frame he bought about 5 years ago. He did a nice job with pretty much period correct Campagnolo NR . The BB is Phil and it has clinchers instead of tubulars.

1985 era decals would certainly cover up the Bianchi lettering. From the catalog examples it looks like decals from '83 and '85 are the same if they are accurate representations from Colnago. Their catalogs in the early-mid '80s are full off contradictions: one showing 2 completely different "Super" frames (chain stays, cable routing, stay caps, decals) for the same year; stock photos used for multiple years and not accurately showing and/or describing features changes including tubing. They are not consistent so unless you bought a serialized/dated frame you never really know what precise year it is from; usually a 2-3 year range depending on features. A new frame might be the same model year as the year it was purchased or possibly 1-2 years earlier; and also possibly the next model year's frame. One never seemed to know before Colnago started to serialize their frames (seemed to be a mystery early on; even to Colnago who has yet to date my very late '80s-mid 90s Super "Piu").

This winter it’s time to give mine a tear down, deep clean and rebuild. I’ve got a set of GL330/Record wheels and Vlaanderen tubs to swap in at some point, too. Just need to get around to finding a freewheel for that set.
