Bike.
Like Dion, Prince, Fabian, Moby, Beck - just the one name...
When I have two in the garage later this week and if I have to distinguish, it'll probably be the "New" bike and the "Old" bike, or maybe "Hybrid" and "Roadie"

My '88 Alpine Sport I bought new in 1988 and still ride is - Beavis. My '13 Fuji Gran Fondo 1.5 is - Marilyn. She's been a real finicky pain in the butt, but when she's happy, ohh boy!

You know, I've never had the impulse to name a damn bike before, but this one just needs to be called "Major Taylor":

When anyone else is around it's "the road bike" or "the mountain bike". When were alone, the Team Fuji is the Steel Diva....As in the one that wants money spent on her.
The mountain bike is usually "you piece of S#*t" when it's index shifting is acting up.

Flipper!
It is an ORCA-(killer whale), but I thought that Shamu would be presumptuous! When I ride I have a porpoise!
The Mountain bike is "ole Widow Maker!" I have the scars to explain that part.

Let's see. . . .
I have one called "Kona Hahanna".
One called "Raleigh USA Technium Olympian".
One called "Trek 420".
And one called "Gary Fisher Mullet".
Although, if I ever get around to converting my Trek to fixed-gear, I might just call it "Trixie" (foreshortening of "Trek Fixie").

"Rusty Schwinn French" - 1978 Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2 [sold]
"Rhubarb Specialized Pro French" - 2006 Specialized Ruby Pro
"Lucifer Giant Avail 1 French" - 2012 Giant Avail 1
Rusty was in pristine condition and had a nice silver matte color, the name was more that he had spent most of his life in a closet or in a garage and didn't get enough miles. Sometimes a little crusty, but a gentleman with a good heart. Sold in 2012.
When I was preparing for RAGBRAI, Rusty decided that Ruby needed a "gang name" and dubbed her "Rhubarb". Her color is a beautiful deep red with subtle color variations. Her personality is quaint, quirky and tart. RAGBRAI host towns make a lot of rhubarb pie for the riders. "Ruby" is in itself a play on words with the men's equivalent model, "Roubaix".
Lucifer is a black and white bike with an aluminum frame and cheaper components. She is named after the cat in Cinderella. Alternately she is called Lucy Crabapple after Charlie Brown's nemesis in Peanuts. Despite reflecting the geometry on Rhubarb, Lucy still is a harsh ride. She will be the trainer bike/backup bike/utility/commuter and a test bed to experiment with gearing using Shimano 105 components rather than the $$ Dura-Ace on Rhubarb.

My current bike is called the Green One. The previous one was the Blue One. When I was in the navy, the ship I was on was it, not she.

I don't know if it's lack of imagination or sentimentality but my bikes' names are "my bike" or sometimes "Dad's bike", and "the rain bike".

Nothing very creative I'm afraid . . .
My Mercian is the "the Vincitore" or "the touring bike"
My KHS Team (carbon) is just "the KHS"
My Hercules 3-Speed is "the 3-speed"
My Masi has been converted to fixed gear so is either "fixed gear" or "the Masi"
My Titanium GT is simply the "Ti GT"
My Reynolds 853 GT is "the steel GT"
My commute bike (unknown frame origin) is "The Black Bike"
My mountain bike (with a NASCAR sticker on it for some reason) is the "NASCAR Zaskar"
My folder is "The Dahon" or "the folder"
My Guru Photon is "the Guru"
I think that's all . . .
Rick / OCRR

I did refer to my Kona (at the LBS) as "Skippy" today as it doesn't seem to like gears 3 through 6 in the back.

I do have to admit to referring to my mountain bike as 'Skippy the Kona' since it doesn't seem to like the middle gears in the back. . . .

Well, I for one proudly accept my dorkitude, even if I'm under forty.
My bikes:
'85 Nishiki - "Coyote Blue"
'87 Fuji Sagres (now just a lonely damaged frameset, sitting in a corner) - "Kawaakari"
'13 Trek 520 - "Saoirse i Chré-umha" (Irish for "Freedom in Bronze")
'14 Trek Stache 8 - "The Dragon"
'15 Trek District 8 - "Copperline"

Kona Paddy Waggon == Trixie
Kona Hannana == War Pig (because she is an indestructible beast)
Salsa Mukluk == Cow
Specialized Rockhopper == Ubiquitous 'elfin Bike
Raleigh Grand Prix == Darce (because I dated a Brit girl in Germany with that name)
Bianchi == The Grande Dame
Raleigh Sojourn == Ethel
Yes... why not? I spend enough time with them, I should name them something.
