My new ride! It bridges the gap between my old Trek 700 Multitrack and my titanium Litespeed Vortex.
Meet Mr. Pink from All-City. Today was his inaugural ride. Despite posing him in the snow, we didn't ride in the snow, we stayed on the roads. But Mr. Pink has an affinity for snow because he ordered the day that our record-tying 9 days of measurable snow streak started and was picked up during our big snowstorm last Friday.

Here's my latest build. and current ride. Rock Hopper Comp. Fenders, 1.5" road tires, spd/flat pedals, North Road bars, Ergo grips wrapped with cloth tape and a bell. Feeling very Grant Peterson-ish. Really liking the ride of it. Plus, I've got an old C6 neck fracture that's becoming a problem, and the upright position will let me ride without pain. Low bars are not an option if I want to continue. Same on my motorcycles. From Ducati to Gran Tourismo Vespa. Get up right....

I've been putting the finishing touches on bringing this 1974 Motobecane Grand Touring back from the dead. My dad bought it new in 1974, and it's been hanging from the garage ceiling since 1981. Suntour V-GT Luxe derailleurs, DiaCompe SuperCompe brakes, and Weinmann 27"x1.25" wheels. Lot's of elbow grease, new tires, tubes, wheel strips, bar tape, hood covers, brake pads, bearing and cable lubrication, and a lot of mink oil on the old suede saddle-I think it can be saved if I don't keep the suede nap.
I'm still getting the bike dialed in, but here's a few shots of it as it neared completion. The seat angle and stem height were still being worked on, but it rides really nice. I normally ride a 2013 Fuji Absolute hybrid but this will be taking some of it's miles.

Just what I needed, yet another bike.
This Bianchi came as a part payment for a 3 wheeled trailer I am building for him.
Since the frame is my size, and in good shape, I will set it up to fit, and keep it around for a while.
I won't be using the Bars, stem, levers or shifters. They will be added to the "Can't bear to toss them" bin.

Love your Motobecane. I've got a 1976 hanging from my ceiling, too. Just wondering if you needed to restore the paint and decals and, if so, how you did that. Mine are not as pretty as yours, but I would like to do what you have done. Any advice?

OK, I'll jump in here because I've been building bikes for the older rider for the past three years now.
My M.O. is to take a medium to high tier lugged steel frame and build it so I can ride it comfortably. I am 54 years old with many broken bones, including my back, from motorcycle road-racing crashes. So I like to sit a bit more upright than drop-bars allow.
Having spent many years on motorcycles, I don't mind a single hand position, as long as it is optimal and well-supported ergonomically. So here are some of the bikes I have built to this formula:
The point being that you can convert any bike you own into an easy-riding steed with just a few judicious mods. The only thing standing in your way is the opinions of other people on the value of your bike. Unless you plan to flip it, build it like you want it. Simple, huh?

Been riding my Red 2010 Giant Sedona DX now for the last 6 years. Just as nice as the day it rolled out the show room floor. Building a Dyno roadster from the bare frame up and hoping to be riding it in the next few weeks. 55 year old man..turning 56 in August :-)

I just picked up a 2013 Trek Stache. Now I need to buy a brake bleed kit and some new pads. I sold the Softride and this is the replacement bike.
I’m thinking of adding a dropper seat post, but those things are expensive.
