80 lbs lost!
Hi all, as of this morning I’ve lost 80 lb’s and I’m back to my old mountain bike racing weight. It’s taken about a year of riding and dieting. Way back when I was racing though I was also lifting so I had way more upper body weight, so this means that now at this weight I’m still pretty flabby. As a result I have reset my goal to get down to 172 in 2018. Barring injury I think I can do it. My reward to myself is a custom ti road frame.

Also, 8 five pound bags of flour + 4 ten pound sacks of rice. For dietary diversity.
@MikeOK - nice reward.
edit: The next 28 may be just as hard, i recommend a custom Calfee. CF or Bamboo.

They're in the lost and found drawer, the guy isn't sure what they are.
Seriously, good job and let that guy continue to wonder.

Congrats and keep it up. I lost 60 lbs and now wonder how in the heck I was able to put on all that weight to begin with. Even with the weight loss I’m still not fast on the hills but it’s easier now to go slow up the hills!!!

Well done!!
I too, am on my own journey to lose weight. I have lost 35lbs so far. That's over about 6 months. I have lost a few inches too around mi middle due to the bike. I have at least another 40lbs I wish to drop.
I know how good you feel, keep going mate!

Yeah? Don't sweat it. I found some of it.
I'd be happy to give it back.

Good plan. I did a "lose this much and buy a bike" plan. It worked for me. Eye on the prize! And you are well on your way! Carry on.

Bravo! You probably just added a few years to your life, and quality to those years.
On a similar note, a character in a recent comic strip panel recently boasted, "I lost 150 pounds of ugly fat. I divorced him!"

It’s a Waltly built in China. I try to buy American when I can but I got this frame shipped for under $1,000. The USA built one started at $5,000. It took a couple months to spec it and have them build it for me and ship it but I just couldn’t justify an extra 4,000. The only difference is my tubes aren’t butted and the American built was. But that just saves ~200g, that’s $20 a gram. And the two American builders I contacted took days to reply and Waltly usually replied in minutes as long as you took into account their business hours being so different. You send them your specs and they prepare a cad drawing for you to approve before they build it. I have an email string of over 80 emails we shared during the process.
