And Im also not a real fast roadie. For me doing 16.5 mph avg speed on my roadbike for a 50 mile ride here in Northeastern Ohio is busting a$$. Ive kept track of all my rides over the last 4 years and there really isnt much difference on my hybrid compared to my roadbike. But I always feel better after getting off my hybrid after several hours than on my roadbike.

I see Lance just did the Leadville 100 at a 16.3 avg speed on his MTB. Its not about the bike.

We spent about 40 miles on the Illinois Prairie Paths this morning - which happens to be about 70% ag lime. It was a nice circle.

Needless to say, my bike needs a bath, complete cleaning, and fresh lubrication.

I love the Fox River Trail, which is almost all asphalt.....

Moi Bicyclette took me to work this morn, then to a college-related errand, then home.

The Little Miami River Trail - dodging deer. Ate some bugs. Some were plastered to my forehead. 23 miles with 15 mph avg.

JETJOCK - This is good to know. Right after I got my hybrid, I got on this forum (pre-hybrid sub-forum) and thought I had made a mistake by not getting a road bike. Since then I have added to my flatbar hybrid, new Ergon GC-3 grips and better quality bike shorts. My enjoyment of this bike has really increased. Plus, now that us hybrid psychos have a home on the big forum...it's even better.

I will have to introduce you to the folks at El Safadis up on 113a street and 134 Avenue...

They have some of the best produce prices in the city, the freshest pitas, home made hummus, and a wealth of middle eastern delicacies and then right next door is the Paradiso bakery that has the best baklava and middle eastern treats in the city.

And the baarazak (sesame and pistachio cookies) are to die for.

I was there last night getting provisions... they are open until 10 pm during Ramadan and are open until 9 pm the rest of the year.

My trusty steed took me to work and back today. I got her up past 30k/mh on a flat road just for the heck of it.

While I wasn't on my hybrid today I did ride my employers today with a chariot hooked in the back. The kids and I bike to the playground and had a great morning. Yesterday and today have been the only times I've pulled a trailer

I took my new bike for a spin round the lake where I normally sail. Just 15 km.
Tomorrow I'll take it out for some more.

Nice!

I dig your outfit and your bike is sick! I like the colour scheme. Nice scenery, too. I have some Dutch ancestry myself.

Thanks for the love! Tilburg is not far from where I live. It's a fun place. You should go in february when they celebrate carnival over there. You'll be LYAO for days.

Cool! Danku! I might just move there - somewhere in Holland. The USA is grating on my nerves.

Mine hasn't taken me anywhere for over a week. 7 days in the East Coast and now it's hotter than all hell. I'm in my apartment. I have two fans and a portable AC on and the digital thermometer is showing 91F. I'm sweating like I've been riding though, that MUST count for something?

It's pretty darn purple! I can't believe you say it was a nice day. I was in DC from Monday-Thursday and damn the humidity and heat. I can't STAND it.

Why didn't you look me up?

We have had the mildest summer I can remember. I haven't had a sleepless night yet. I have to get up and turn off the fan most nights because I get chilly!
