The lower under mount actually works really well for water bottles, down here in Florida it gets mighty warm, and I go through all three bottles easily on long all day rides. My bike can mount 5 of them, but one is reserved for my speaker so I can listen to some tunes on long hauls.

I think a 42T big ring is about as large as most hybrids need. I took a 28/38/48 off my Trek Verve and swapped on a 24/34/42 from another mountain bike that I bought for parts. MUCH better, and I actually use all three rings now. My 750 has a 22/32/42 from the factory, and I'm happy with it on that bike.

I can't keep spinning in high gear (42-11) already anyway, so why would I need more?

Exactly ! Ive rode a bit over 50 miles today, and I used the 42 quite a bit compared to never going into the 48.

I'm actually contemplating changing out my 42t chainring or crankset for something like a 48t, 50t or even 52t. I'm also thinking about swapping out the cassette for a 11-28.

I feel like I'm spinning out with my current set up (42t chainring and 11-34 cassette)

I did this little mod last week, but got to see how well it worked tonight. I needed a forward light mount. I used some leftover stainless steel hardware from my Surly 24 Pack Rack to prop up the handle on the strong box. Took some time to get the “bends” right, but once I got it dialed in, it worked out really well. After some drilling and adjustments I got my bike light just right !

I’m going to say no because it’s a Shimano chainring, while it would probably fit, the teeth on the chainring most likely wouldn’t sync up with a SRAM system.

Thanks ! I couldn’t believe that it worked out as well as it did, was very lucky to have the mounts on the rack where they’re located in the front, leftover hardware, and the hardware “tubes” were the same diameter as the “slots” on the handle. It was one of those things where everything just seemed meant to be.

I was thinking today once you start putting miles on your FXS6, you’re going to need to break her down once and a while to clean her up. I cleaned up my FXS6 today, and gave her really good going over, cleaned the derailleurs, wheels, wiped down the brake calipers, and cables, and then waxed the frame. Having a bike stand really makes it much easier.

I put a harder saddle on my hybrid last night and took it for a spin in the dark. Its the saddle that came on the bike. I had immediately put a softer one on when I bought it as I liked it from my previous bike.

I keep reading that harder saddles are better.

5 miles later the softer saddle was begin reinstalled. Maybe I'm biking wrong, but I don't care. My butt still hurts from the hard saddle this morning. Never hurt with the softer one after hundreds of miles.

So if I'm doing it wrong...it's gonna stay that way.

Those are great bar ends you have on the actual ends, the Origin8 Ergo-Sports. I have a pair and really enjoy them.

Mine are rebranded as Tranz X. They felt pretty good to hold at the lbs. Let's see how I like em on the road. The weather has been too wet for me try them for real. Maybe tomorrow morning. I think I'm going to miss the great leverage my previous carbon bar ends provided when climbing, but I also put my hands a lot on the outer edges and this ergonomic design should be more comfortable in that position.

I also wish I could rotate the inner ends so as to point more upwards and less inwards to imitate the brake hoods position better. Unfortunately the adhesive between the base and the tubing has proven to be a very good one and there's no way of doing so non destructively.

I've been in the same boat but have settled on a harder saddle. I found that setup was key (seat height, fore-and-aft and tilt). I think a softer saddle may feel more comfortable on shorter rides, but a harder saddle is supposed to be more comfortable on longer rides.

I replaced the soft Oasis that came with my bike with a hard Vader saddle. I was getting numb on longer rides. Initially the hard saddle hurt my sit bones. It took a while (weeks?) to adjust but I did. It was an improvement.

I just replaced the Vader with a WTB Rocket Elite. It's a special edition equivalent to the Rocket Pro. I bought the Vader because it was the same shape as the WTB but cheap. That way I could try shape before forking out for the WTB.

The WTB is the Goldilocks, sitting on my sit bones with no numbing but not to hard.
