At least I can say I'm not the oldest thing in that picture.

We spend our early years (1-21) trying to be older than we were. Then we try to convince ourselves and everyone else that we weren't as old as we really were (21-50). Now here we are, willing to advertise our being over 50 just so the younger ones around us know we have more life experience than they do.

Dan, we can only hope we age as well as the car.

50+ Jerseys

As a "newly minted" 50 year old...I too would be interested. I got a Clyde/Athena forum jersey a few years ago.

Okay, I have accepted Curtis suggestion, about how to handle a group sale, this time around. Curtis is handling the design aspect, the shorts require a design change that Curtis is familiar with, and is better the man to deal with it. I am going to do the administrative end of the sale, I intend to follow the methods that Curtis has successfully set up to the letter.

Please be patient about this, things have to be 100% nailed down by Curtis before I can take orders, or any information.

Watch for the announcement please ,and no I do not intend to accept any money for doing my part in the group buy, as some has suggested that should be offered to whoever was doing the work, at any point for anything. Its strictly a love for the forum that is making me want to help out. Costs to all of you will be kept to the absolute minimum. Canada sales are certainly going to be done. Peace.

Bill

Thanks for stepping up Bill. Curtis has done an amazing job in years past with this, and I'm sure he appreciates the assistance on the administrative side. Thanks also to Curtis for work done in the past, and for continuing to work to ensure the design is updated as necessary so all can enjoy the fruits of his labor, and be suitably attired.

Thanks Bill! My regular jersey from the very first order years ago must have shrunk in the wash. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Those that use this thread and its subscription may want to rethink that, it will be a bit for Curtis to get straight with Champion Systems, that has to be done first. I'll post a notice, and instructions, when its time to get the group sale going, that will serve as the list I use to fill in a spread sheet, during the order period we set, and so that others can see what is going on. It will be an ample period for members here to see the notice, place an order and see exactly what they have on order.

When we pass the time frame for ordering, I am going to ask the staff to lock that thread so that no one thinks they can still order kit as part of the 50+ design. Once the order goes in, that is the end of that part. No further orders, or changes are possible, NONE. Again, this is not an open order design with Champion Systems, you cannot just go there and place an order for the Curtis designed kit items.

Questions about wanting changes to parts of the design, having a 60+. 65+, 70+, etc., come up every time we have had the group orders that I participated in, and Curtis had to explain the process each time. I suppose I will, too. As Curtis said previously, and not being difficult here, if you want another age group kit, or something special, go to one of the various kit suppliers, do a design, pay the fees and the kit costs, and get exactly what you want. It is expensive to order a single piece of kit with a custom design, go do some research and if you find something, use it, or start your own group buy.

One last thing, Curtis and the original group members, used the 50+ and this design as a basis, because this is the "50+ Forum", its an identity for us. This has come up before, too.

As soon as I can start, and when Curtis has had time to do the rework stuff necessary, I'll post the start and the requirements/directions for Paypal, order details, and the list as it gets updated each day/few days. There is a minimum order requirement by CS, but that hasn't been a problem, that I am aware of, in the past.

Everyone have a fantastic weekend, ride if the weather, and life, will let you, and be safe.

Bill

I was on the receiving of a 50+ short sleeve shirt from a poster here who shall remain anonymous, (he knows who he is, and is very humble), so I already have one. Maybe if the order includes long sleeves, I would be in.

Although I have very few post I read this forum most morning. I hope I qualify for ordering this shirt when it becomes available. I don't have a "real cycling shirt" so this would be my first.
Enjoy this forum very much.

Miya 310, there isn't any qualifying for ordering one of our group's jerseys, or any of the kit in the group buy. Its strictly a group buy to have a jersey or other kit that has our logo displayed.

Come on BVT, break down and order a jersey, you can tell everyone the 50+ is just your avg. speed for your rides.

Curtis designed the kit several years ago, he has handled every buy, in total each time we were able to order. The complete process of designing each piece of kit, getting the design on file and paying the deposit, with Champion Systems, was done by Curtis. And, not just for our forum, he does the Northern California Forum, those are some beautiful kit, too. Other fora have done group buys over the years, its a way of having some solidarity with others that we don't get to ride with, or have any fellowship together with.

Several of the manufacturers have programs where a design can be done, and the group can order them from them, at a favorable price. The few places that offer single custom items have steep prices, that I have checked out. And, I fully know that I am no designer, or any kind of an artistic person. I can "draw" flies after a hot, long ride, though.

As soon as Curtis lets me know that the work he needs to do with Champion is complete, and he fills me in on the details I will post the notice for the sale, its time span/closing date, the cost of each piece (including shipping), the process to order your needs, and when to expect things to arrive, (as best as I can tell you.) I want a new SS jersey, I gave both of mine away, to new members that had missed a buy's closing date, and another LS jersey, to go with the one I have almost worn out and the wind breaker I got from tsl a few years back (thanks much Pal!!!) have, and also some shorts. One can never have too much kit, you know.

One last thing, If I have not posted it in the previous replies I made, everything is available in Women's cuts, too. It its a repeat, just consider the source

Bill
