Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Los Angeles Area Group Rides

Does anyone know about any group rides in the LA area? I'll be in town for a few days, and I'd love to ride with a local group.

Thanks,

karl

Dear Karl:

Tell us what part of LA you'll be in, and when, and maybe we can help you. A lot of the local clubs have a Saturay morning ride. Bike Forums So Cal Community has a whole BUNCH coming up, not all of which are posted on the upcoming rides thread -- they're still in formation.

Let us know what part of town you're staying at and tell us exactly what type of group riding you're interested in doing.....small social ride, small pack ride, large pack training ride, fast paced, etc...

Thanks Fixer,

I'll be staying here:
los angeles, CA 90036
https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=...-8&sa=N&tab=wl

I think it's pretty close to Hollywood Pro Bicycles.
I'm interested in any ride, but I'd love to do a fast group ride.

Here's a link to the regular training rides: SocalCycling

there are a lot more than that so maybe pop over to the Socal Forum and see what you can find, too.

Thanks,

The Simi Valley ride looks great. Is anyone planning to ride it this coming Saturday?

Somewhere around 8:15 to 8:30 The Amigos racing club little less quick
8:30 Team Hollywood racing club The Love Ride less quick but very spirited at times includes descent of Chevy Chase
