Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is just unbelievable. You can get the same thing from PBK for half the price, brand new.

That ones new too. I mean, they could've walked into their local Performance and gotten it for $35 without any shipping, but they didn't do THAT bad.

I've seen some pretty ******ed things happen on eBay, this just isn't one of them.

edit: You can't say (developmentally disabled)? Wow. Hello 1984.

It's $27 from PBK, and $38 there. As others have said, not everyone knows about PBK - and that's not exactly half price.

If you don't feel like waiting, go to your LBS and pay retail
Or if you have the time, PBK and wait a week or three
Or try and scoop one up on ebay.
Whatever, Seriously!

Like I said, Performance has them on sale right now. There are a lot of Performance in VA, the chain is only $35 right now, and you don't have to wait. Or you could have Performance ship it to you and it would be there in a couple days (ships from NC).

One thing that shocked me was the retail on a DA chain.....
Ebay, PBK, Performance are all much better deals.
Dalava, not trying to give you a hard time - people pay what they feel is fair value. People will always over pay on everything from a bike to a car to an airline ticket.

My brother in law, an avid hunter, frequently sells things on eBay like decoys and such. He sets the starting price at the Cabella's catalog price and lets people bid on it, then drop ships the product straight from Cabella's, keeping the difference for himself.

I know you are not I was just shocked at people coming to eBay and bidding stuff up without even knowing they could get them cheaper from retail. But like you said, there are always people over paying for whatever. Maybe they are overpaying so we can have the good deals.

I know that there are a lot of PBK fans here, but whenever I want something they are always out of stock.

I sign up for the email messages to get those items when they are back in stock, but I never receive get them.

For example, Campy chorus chains. Great advertised price, but they have been out of stock since march of 2008.

I always go back to my standby: lick bike. Competitive prices reasonable shipping.

I am in a position now where I am buying things from Ebay because I have no choice. I just had a birthday and received a BUNCH of Ebay gift cards. I feel like a little kid at Christmas browsing Ebay trying to decide what to buy next. I am buying mostly maintenance items and wear items but I do realize that sometimes I can get a better deal at PBK but last time I checked they will not take my Ebay gift card.

Funny thing, pbk has Record chains much cheaper than Lick's price on Chorus chains. They have them in stock intermittently. I just got two at around $38 each a month ago. The email notification ting has worked great for me.
