Selling an 1980’s Sekai road bike. I’m not sure of the model but, it’s tall. Maybe 60cm or taller. I was fixing this up so it has been cleaned up and has some new components but, I have other projects I’m focusing on now. It just needs a simple tune and some new grease in the hubs and bottom bracket. Please email me if you’re interested. I’m open to offers and am willing to meet in Redmond or Bellevue. Cash only and no trades.

VINTAGE 1986 Specialized Allez SE Jim Merz

Asking price lowered to $100
Beautiful vintage 1986 Specialized Allez SE Jim Merz road bike frame (Made in Japan).
Perfect for someone with time to complete the build and wants to own a piece of cycling history.
Frame is in good working condition.
Includes Shimano 600 drivetrain, Shimano PD-7401 Clipless Pedals, Saturae C20 wheels.
Selling as is - so it comes with the tires but you will likely want to replace those.
I recently purchased a mountain bike and I am open to trades involving related gear.
Looks to be in San Diego, and bigger than the 61cm size listed in the ad.
I’d have already bought it if local.

Yep, that would be awesome, I have a too small one and a big one, maybe not this big and its not in the cards right now, damnit Jim.

Haven't seen many big ones and this one went through Adams Avenue Bikes at some point which is very cool as Jim made a bunch of customs for them when he was building.

I think it is (or at least a serious look).

Never knew Nashbar ever handled any of these (which were already a housebrand for a Maryland or DC area shop or shops and came from a variety of sources/builders, including a few that were made by Eisentraut!) Some earlier frames were built in England by MKM or Mercian, but not this one.
I bet it's Tange Champ no.1 or a mixed blend of tubing.

If that is true, Sorry I am struggling to believe Eisentraut or Mercian was able to build production level frames at this price point. How can you differentiate between which builders on the frames?

The "Nashbar" example was most definitely not built by either Eisentraut or any of the Brit builders.
But if you want to educate yourself there has been discussions about this (these) Alpine marque in C&V and one thread to start with:

Got it! Thank you! It appears these bikes share nothing in common other than the word "Alpine"! That photo of the original Alpine built by Eisentraut is beautiful!!! The Alpine Cycle Group bikes are just another production bike built in Taiwan. At least now I will know the difference just in case an Eisentraut bike shows up for sale here! Fingers Crossed...

I’ll have to look at that thread some more. After I posted I thought maybe I had confused this Alpine with Palo Alto thinking this might be one of those Byzantine built frames.

despite the foggy history a nice looking Tange crane with what looks like unused 105SC has to be worth $200. It’s still posted but the seller hasn’t replied to last night’s email. The size is a bit confusing, he says it measures 56 CtCbut a 32,75 standover which I think would be closer to 58 CtC no?

Univega Sportour 58 cm - $285 (malden)

UNIVEGA SPORTOUR Frame 58 cm, with triple chain rings and 6 sp index down tube shifting.
Freshly rebuilt with a mix of Shimano Ultegra and 105 components.
Detailed clean and everything lubed. This bike is ready to roll and would be great for someone 5'9 to over 6 Ft tall.
Touched up the paint chips as shown but no rust on the frame and still years of service.
No pedals mounted yet have some flats on order or if you want Shimano SPD pedals mounted I'll do that for another $15. Your choice.
This would make a great commuter or if your starting out and want to get over some big hills it has very low gears available with the Granny Ring up front/
Serious buyers, cash and local pick up only

This post has to win some kind of award for Best Post of Quality High End Road Bikes for Sale or something similar! Every single one of these bikes is worthy of its own spotlight IMHO! I am thankful they are way too big for me or else I would be in big trouble!

I was a bit on the fence about the seller valuation until I read the fine print about NO Green Saddle, No Green Bottle cages and No pump included!!!! $100 says when you arrive he also removed the green bar tape and left the bars bare! Clown......

I think you are correct regarding the measurements and stand over height. I hope they reply for you. I think I mentioned a few days ago I am not having very good luck with replies on CL, FB and OU. When I ask a question to the OU seller I get 1 word replies and none that answer my question.

I think that is a very fair price based on the excellent condition and factoring in complete build kit IE Wheels, Bars/Stem and Seat. Not to mention if you take a look and you think less you could make an offer to him. But You would never be able to buy all of those components seperately for that price!

Maybe but listed for over a month tells us the price is high, maybe way high.

Still, if a big fan of this version, you would be very hard pressed to find a set this nice and complete.

With the wheels and hard to find crankset, absolutely fair price if you have something for it. Plus you get tires. Add a frame, stem and seatpost and you are set to go.

That said, few bikes "fit" that groupset. Maybe a Centurion (early), or maybe cool on a Motobecane!

Isn't it actually a member of the AlAn family of frames?

Photos not focused and if indeed it's sat for 25yrs it will have to have a complete rebuild.

Time to go. I bought this bike new in 1997 in Salem NH for over $1800.00 Rode it about 10 times, put less than 100 miles on it, and it's been in the garage ever since. This is an excellent example of a fine Italian vintage racing bike in fine original condition. Even has the original tires still on it. I put a fresh battery in the odometer and it powered right up.
