Why is there so much leakage from the road cycling forum?
Is it just me, or are there an unusually high number of newbie transfers this off season into the road racing forum? Many of you respond to these people as though you know of them which makes me think they are probably frequenters of the road cycling main forum. My question is, did someone invite these plebes, are they random party crashers, or am I imagining the whole thing.
I normally wouldn't even mind the new input, but it just seems like there has been a huge change in the solute-solvent ratio which has diluted the intelligence of the posts to levels not seen since R600DuraAce. I blame the forum upgrade because that is when it seemed to start.
Anyone verify/deny/yawn/facepalm or other?

It could be the "Lance Effect". With his return, along with all the "Shack" talk, etc...maybe a bunch of people are just now thinking about getting into racing, and have no guidance where to direct their Q's. For God's sake, even Colbert did a bit on Lance vs. Contador.

Has coddling tendencies.
Blame it on Waterrockets for his trolling expedition in the 41.
Alternate response: Maybe you legit racers aren't yelling enough.

I'm not so sure that the solution to the alleged problem is living up to our reputation as snooty, self-absorbed pricks. Better to rise above it; just sayin'.
Besides, it's the off-season, people are thinking about racing, we have less to talk about, etc etc. People will realize that things move a little slower around here, the forum doesn't update as quickly, the ones who are truly interested will stick around, the rest will be gone by the time the Spring Classics get rolling. Except for the ones pretending to be the Cyclingnews live ticker, but that's every year, so no big deal.

My apologies for coming off as elitist. I really don't mean to and try to help out people where I can. I guess that it just seems that the threads produced worthy of "racing" discussion has gone way down.
But, while I am being elitist...
