That's nothing....my first Simi ride, still hadn't done my first race yet (umd will chime in on the hammer fest that is Simi) and Thourlow Rogers goes off the front...we chase..make the turn off of Los Angeles Blvd and two guys go down...their teammates saw it happen and still didn't wait...I rode past them trying to hang on...two guys in ditch both bleeding and nobody waited.

I was surrounded, we were pretty much taking the entire lane and were probably 4 or 5 across. Had to be the guy directly in front of me... But also there was no time. It was a slight uphill, accelerating from a stoplight. One moment we were moving the next moment he wasn't moving. I did what I could but still nicked him and went down. I got right back up but I had to wait for the entire group (well over 100 people) to pass before I could start moving again.

Yeah, I did my first Simi ride yesterday. Thurlow wasn't there but plenty of other fast people were there, including my coach Aaron Olson who went off the front when we made the turn out of Moorpark never to be seen again until the regroup. I have a full report on my blog, but yeah, that was brutal. I actually went down when we turned onto Mulholland because the guy in front of me dropped his chain and stopped, and spent the rest of the way to Las Virgenes clawing my way through the line to get back near the front. I actually paused for a few seconds after I got back up to make sure the other guy was ok, which cost me dearly in effort later.
I really miss riding out there..some of the best riding in the country can be found in and around the Santa Monica's.

My dad was considering willing me the house in Westlake. He ended up splitting it between me and my sister and we sold it. If he had given it to me outright I might be living there now.

Was it actually on the lake? My in-laws live just on the other side of Westlake Blvd, actually in TO. They are right above Triunfo park where the Simi ride regroups.

We owned a house in TO...on Janns Road...great house but Janns is really busy street so we sold it..made a killing on that house.
