Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Im really loving the Vertigo, but ISP makes me worried. Always been a fan of Rossetti bikes though.
From Rossetti:
"The Diablesse with the red and bb 30 crank and Carbon wheels will be below 15 pounds around 14.8 .With the SUba wheels it will be close to 15.4.Suba wheels are about 1600 grms. Thanks"

i agree about the vertigo it does look nice. ive seen it before but not as a frameset.

i still dont know about the frame i posted earlier. i guess for $300 its not a bad deal really but i would need a few parts to get it going that i dont have (main being non bb30 crank). i might do some more shopping and see what i find but that frame is local so i liked being able to check it out first. i could always buy a new fork(you know ill have to have something to do to lighten it up).

i just got my income taxes done so i have some money to burn so its either a new frame or some new parts for the Fuji. i dont know what i would get if i got new parts for the Fuji either. i need a seatpost, bars and, stem but since i have to extra money i could get new cranks or a new fork (both are too heavy). i have between $500-$1000 to spend any ideas?

if i get seatpost bars and stem i kinda know what i want there. 3T team arx stem; 3T ergonovo team bars (or zipp sl short & shallow), 3T ergosum pro bars (or Ritchey WCS if im going alu); 3T Doric seat post. i would like to get a 3T fork if i get a new fork and if i do cranks (needs to be bb30) i might just go all out and get zipps or something like that.

What size crank do you need? If you're lookin' for budget, I recently replaced an FSA Gossamer - I'd planned on throwing it on ebay this weekend. It's a compact, 175mm arms. No bearings or retaining clips, unfortunately.

Some of the 3T Team Garmin blue versions can still be had for great prices (except for the seat post - I'd kill for one, right about now).

Honestly your best gain performance and weight wise would be wheels. Boyd Cycling sells a wheelset that is just over 1000 grams for $750.

i agree here but my wife will think im an idiot if i by another set of wheels in less than 6 months. i have been eyeing a set of boyd carbon tubbies though so i still might just get them. i do need a new sey of race wheels.

Okay, I figured I'd toss it out there as the "you can't get much cheaper," option, but I understand.

No offense at all! I took a little opportunity to upgrade when I'd decided that I wanted shorter crank arms, too.

I just picked this up today. It currently sits at 17.5lbs which is pretty heavy but with a power tap I think its not so bad. Id like to see how low I can get it without changing things to much.

The first order of business is to get the fit sorted out so I can cut the steer tube, replace the stem with a wcs 4axis, and replace / cut the post.

The current post is an unaltered 410mm thomson. Ill probably swap it out with a thomson masterpiece at the appropriate length. Im a little tempted at getting a WCS carbon post but ive never had carbon parts before and not sure I feel like dealing with them and I really like the ease of adjustment the thomson has. Id be open to other suggestions though.

Its got some crappy tires I will swap with some ultremos and I will put in light weight tubes.

I will replace the zipp skewers with some kcnc's

The saddle will be changed from the arione to a toupe expert

Im going to swap the silver classic bars for the WCS curve

Ill also replace the spindles and bowties on the speedplays

what else?

My first goal is just to get it under 17lb

^^ Nice pictures Ravenmore!!

Lithuania: thats a nice light frame you have there so there is potential there to go pretty low. ive thought about that frame myself actually.

so i spent some money last night.. i ordered a 3T doric seatpost and a 3T ARX team stem. i really needed a zero setback post so thats really what made me order a post over everything else. ive still got some money to play with but im still undecided what i really want.

Yes it would - I actually thought long and hard about either white or silver handlebars.

Im angry! Went to the bike store to pick up the 11-23 cassette and after putting it on the bike, I asked them to weigh the bike and it came up to 17.63 lb!!!!
thats after putting the forte tubes and 11-23 PG-1070 casette on it.....so much for getting a bike under 16lb.

Ravenmore where did you get the blue spacers? I like them. I would post my bike here but I am waiting on my skewers and brakes from planetx; who knows when those will arrive :/

you can easily get sub 16lb it will just take more than some tubes and a cassette. the thing you have to realize is all these small savings add up. so yes 20g here and 20g there will eventually save you a lb or 2. so what did your bike weigh before the new parts? what was the toatal savings?
