Here's one I haven't seen before. A Belgian Superia Gemini AX, masked in Italian livery. Gifted to me by a friend who lost his vision, it remains in the project pile. Crusty wot?

1959 George W. Stratton. Frame number 59592. Believed built by famed English framebuilder Bill Gray, who learned his trade at Claude Butler from the '30s to about 1956. Built for an American, as the lamp bracket is on the left fork blade. Believed to have originally resided in San Diego. Probable connections to Dr Clifford Graves and San Diego AYH, as Stratton was the English mechanic for an SDAYH tour in England in 1960. The SDAYH Hosteler of the Year perpetual award was also inscribed, "Presented by George W Stratton of London England". The George W Stratton bike shop still operates in London, though the current owners have limited knowledge of its golden age.

That is really nice. Is the paint original?

Yes, the paint is original. All major components are original or appropriate (too much history to be sure what it was first built with), although the Williams splined crankset is a couple years newer -- the bike had a steel Williams set when I got it, but the splined cranks are just too cool not to use!

Our first tandem, Santana Targa 1989. Repainted and modernized. Mrs. C. never liked the Santana graphics (sorry, Bill) so we left it anonymous this time around.
Rear cockpit a bit tight for her but it still has a certain something. Seems to climb and sprint for road signs better than the new one but harsh on the bumps in the back. The fillet-brazing is lovely work. Originally Suntour downtube shifters. Campag Ergo 9 now.

By the way, conspiratemus means "Let us breathe together." in case you're wondering. Which we do.

Working for the Clampdown with blue & brown Schwinn heavyweights, 2 real Chicago Schwinn's from the 70's and 1 poseur from Pacific, but the Trailways hybrid is the bike that got me back into cycling in '14.

Captain Kangaroo says, "Schwinn bikes are best." As Erik E. notes, "My grandpa's Schwinn is faster than my Minicooper."

Some Schwinns don't need no decorations for the neighborhood Fourth of July parade.

1988 Schwinn Le Tour. I didn't spend much on this bike, but I really like how it rides. Almost everything has been changed except the frame and seat post.

1976 Alex Singer

This year I finally got around to fixing up this Singer I bought a few years ago. The top tube needed some straightening and repainting. I should do the lug lining on the top tube, but still need to think about it for another year or two. It rides just great - one of my favorites. 21.0 lb as shown.
