Trailers And Wind
I have a Burley Nomad that I love.. Does high winds affect the way a trailer handles? We have a lot of windy days and I don't want to take the trailer out if it acts like a sail.

The trailer can't put much side force into the bike, it's mostly just push or pull. It can be really draggy, though.
If it's windy enough to pull the trailer up on a wheel or slide - all bets are off. You probably don't want to be on a bike anyhow.

Headwinds will make pedaling much harder.

Bakfiets are a bit more stable than trailers and easier to control. Also safer for young children since the rider has control over tipping which is not the case with a trailer. I'm not aware of how often a child has been hurt or killed from the trailer they were riding in blowing over though. I have seen a trailer blow in to the path of other riders causing them to crash though.
