I like Pure Clean because Doctor Cohen is passionate about his stuff, and promises to use the "good" beets, and not some gmo off shore stuff. Plus, he answers the phone when you call there, more often than not.
I need all the help I can get in the breathing department, and something is helping. Garmin said I hit a new high Vo2 Max of 69 last week, if that's to be taken seriously. That's pretty good for an upper middle aged guy with emphysema.

You’ll never see it if it’s being offset by dehydration and glycogen depletion. Also, there are big genetic differences in the response of muscles to overuse. There are constant stories of people getting on spin bikes and developing compartment syndromes with nerve damage and rhabdomyolysis. Happened to a student of mine, who narrowly avoided emergency surgery. Those folks are just at one end of a spectrum.

I grew up in an area where pickled beets and eggs were practically a staple. "Pinkled Eggs", we called them. So much more appetizing than the 'Eggs In Plasma' look of pickled eggs made without beets.

I had a Jewish friend who when we sailed in cold late fall weather, would bring a big pot of borscht. At the end of a cold day, with a good dollop of sour cream, this was a stick to the ribs meal that would warm you right up.

I am not fond of beets, but will eat them with enough adulteration. The version of borscht I grew up with was beef stew with a few beets in it and was, therefore, edible. I like the pickled beets, along with the other pickled stuff, in Mediterranean salads, especially with good hummus and olive oil. I will also eat beets in salads with goat cheese and roasted walnuts etc.

Beet powder or other supplements are the only way I'll eat a beet. No way would I touch one of those things otherwise, because unless it's in a separate vessel in another room, it effects everything else on the plate. (Or on the table)
