Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Initial ride it feels better, and the my hand feels natural in the position it’s suppose to be in. I dropped it on spacer and I like how it feels. After some more miles if it feels like I can go lower I will drop another.

Wheels Mfg made a small run out of titanium a while ago. I'd have bought a dozen.

And of note, the P2, like most tri bikes, lacks a replaceable hanger. Never had an issue; sturdy CF. At some point the R2 will be replaced by a cheap-ish steel frame with a non-replaceable hanger, like that Smoothie, or a Ritchey Logic.

A guy I ride with just got a Ritchey Logic and built it up. He is very pleased with it.

I have nothing but good things to say about my Road Logic. 25 years old and still just works. Comfy - especially now with 28s - handles well, not rigid but not a noodle either.

I've noticed yours here. The new ones are quite different, but also well-regarded. I did note that a review of the new ones said they respond better to gradual diesel-like increases in power rather than snappy sprints. Which means it's perfect for my power delivery type. One day. I won't replace my R2 pre-emptively with one, but if anything happens to it, that's likely the answer.

Oh and hey, for your "bars cover hub" fit, does that happen on the hoods, in the drops, or both? Mine are like that on hoods, but in the drops the hub is forward in my vision.

That's on the hoods, but I'm not sure it's useful anymore. Bars have shorter reach and brifters have longer necks. In any case, it was anecdotal, from the guy who did my bike fitting 23 years ago.

Yeah, the Ritchey isn't an 'instant acceleration' kind of bike. That's what the Battaglin MAX is for!

Yeah it was more a curiosity. I think I'm ok with the fit on the R2 now; if I do anything it'll just be a new stem.

And I'm not an "instant acceleration" kind of rider. WhyFi once commented that he and I must have "very different" power curves; I can hold sweet spot and rip a hole in the wind for half of forever, but ask me to sprint for the city limit sign and I'll just tell you my coffee order so they can get it started. That's triathlete life; the cyclists that were most successful in switching to Ironman were domestiques.

Hell I've played domestique for AG and her friends. I'm pretty good at i.

With the new stem, hub is blocked on the drops not on the hoods.

I like to sprint but I don’t know if I am good at it, and I definitely can’t sprint for long.

If you can sprint for long, you're not sprinting.

Relationships with others will be limited, figuring out how to navigate university won't truly happen. Hate to delay growth and graduating, but it would seem that there would be some argument to do a different approach. On the otherhand depending on the major, many of those first year classes are just getting pre-reqs and fillers out of the way.
I think it's a great opportunity to really get off on the right foot, get into the books and earn straight A's for an entire year. Then next year when normalcy returns they're a year more mature and better able to balance the social with the academic.

Bummer. Sounds like the other guy is game, though - you could always start taking off for town signs and see if he, or anybody else, joins in. Do you think that it would be frowned upon by some of the group leaders?

Here's the issue:

I never had an address in Canada. I did spend a summer there with my uncle when I was in high school.

Does that count? It seems like they might not check that. The only required documentation is for citizenship.
