I'm considering the Giro Republic. Any other options similar to it?

I love my Bontrager SSR shoes, got 'em on a 60% off special at the LBS for less than 40 bucks. They look and feel much like normal shoes, very easy to walk in, and also very well ventilated for the warmer months.
In winter I usually use my MTB shoes but I have ongoing issues with numb toes.

i use some Nike Cycling shoes i bought when i got my road bike back in 2007. they are great for commuting/ touring/ mountain biking. I have done all of that in them. I dont think that Nike makes cycling shoes anymore.
@PatrickGSR94 I got some neoprene overshoes and they have really made riding this winter a lot more pleasurable. down to 24F with thicker (than my summer) wool socks and totally comfortable.

Believe me I have tried many different methods for my feet. I have crazy long toes which I think is part of the problem.

Sidi Dominators in the cold, because I can easily fit neoprene booties over them, Keen Commuter sandals in the heat, and Pearl Izumi X-Alps for in between. If I choose, I can wear the Keen's or Pearl Izumi's during the day at work, or change out of them. They're each soft enough to be comfortable for the day.

Pearl Izumi X-Alp Enduro in good weather, Shimano MW-81 winter shoes in bad weather. I keep sneakers in the office so walkable SPD shoes are fine for commuting. The winter shoes are because the X-Alps are too bulky to play well with booties and I got tired of messing with them.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
I rocked some Giro Republics for a little over a year. I also used them for walking around campus (last year of college). I wore down the replaceable pads pretty quick, but like I said, I was walking in them a LOT. If you were just riding in them and sitting at a desk and.or changing shoes at work, they would last longer.
But they were super comfy. I'll use them again just as soon as I can move close enough to the new job.
I also considered the Giro Terraduro. Those are definitely not going to be mistaken for regular shoes, but they would hold up better in a touring type situation I would think.

Most of the time Sperry Topsiders which is what I wear most of the time. For warm winter I have some Loakes that are similar to Sperry's but have a much better tread. Cold days get my Salomon boots.

I use Bontrager's Solstice shoes. They're lightweight and very comfortable, with a recessed-SPD walkable sole.

Nashbar Ragster II sandals. VERY COMFORTABLE! I could walk around in them all day. I'm sure the Keen's are good, but the Ragster's are about 40% cheaper than the Keens. I'll wear the sandals, without socks of course, when commute temps are above 50. In the 40's, I'll add a pair of thick wool socks. Colder? I go to my Specialized mountain bike shoes of some flavor. They are very comfortable, too. Really cold? Leather work boots... (Really cold for me is below 30F degrees.)

Finally ditched my 16 year old $9 K-mart hybrid slippers/Merril knockoffs and got a pair of Northwave Typhoons at Nashbar for some silly price.
Went with Shimano SPD-SL pedals and cleats. First time for me to get locked into my pedals (not counting toe clips and straps for decades). Definitely feels weird. Easier to lock in and release than I thought. My commute is almost entirely back country roads, so I lock in at home and don't get out until I arrive at work most days.
