Looking to replace some dry rotted tubulars on a bike I just bought. Wondering what tires folks like and ride these days? Preferably skinwall.

I've been happy with the Continental Sprinter Gatorskin. No exactly a skin wall but they have a nice look to them. Not all black any way which what I wanted to avoid.
Or the Dugast Strada Road. I just didn't find them as durable. But they are pretty!

I went cheap with a pair of Kenda's for $7.00 each because this roady thing is new to me. My MTB gets Wardens or Bontragers and I'm really happy with all so far.

Sprinters have good mileage and durability, not too heavy or expensive, and their quality control is relatively good for a tubular tire.

I really like Veloflex Vlaanderen (27mm). You can find them for about $60 apiece if you're patient. If 27s won't fit, the Roubaix model is 25mm. Both have tan sidewalls. If you want cheaper, I think the Vittoria Rally (23mm or 25mm) are serviceable, and are available with tan sidewalls. I just put a set of Schwalbe Lugano T on one bike (25mm, tan sidewall). It's been too frickin' cold to ride though, so the verdict is still out on them.

Rally tires are usable but mounting can be troublesome and some are not that round.
i am running a set of spech espoir that ride nice and are cheap and a set of challenge pairs-roubaix which ride nice but are pricy. All these are tan wall.

I've been riding Tubulars for 8 years or so using mostly Continental Sprinter Gatorskins in 22mm and 25mm. The 25s have been used on some epic mixed surface events like EroicaCA and the BWR without any sidewall cuts. Continental Competitions ride nicer but $$$. I'm enjoying a pair of Vittoria Corsa G+ now but they quickly got small cuts -- no flats yet but many small cuts. I have some Vittoria Rallys stretching that feel fine in the hand, if a bit heavier than the Corsas. At 16 bucks, they are attractive and have the skin/tan sidewall.

Vittoria Pave's 27mm - but they're not making them anymore, they're GREEN, and they're getting hard to find. Best tubulars I've ever had and I got a bunch in my tire drawer. I think they made a skinwall version but nobody wanted it.

Veloflex Criteriums, 23mm. They come with yellow-ish sidewalls which quickly start to look tan.

Jeez, do you guys not have snow now? I can't dream of riding tubulars for a while.

Vittoria Corsa G+ (the older version) but per the previous post I do get small cuts in them pretty easily. On wet roads debris seems to cling pretty easily.
I also have a pair of Veloflex Vlaanderen and they’re great and they don’t seem to get the cuts but then I split out the sidewall on one when I was riding where I shouldn’t of been.
Both brands are smooth riders for me. Veloflex seems to be harder to find.

Vittoria Corsa G Graphene + on almost half my bikes now.
Smoothest, fastest tires for the money! They do start out quite sticky and tend to pick up stuff on the road, so you need to watch out during the first few miles.
Also still have Schwalbe Milanos on three bikes, very light tires, but nowhere near as fast rolling as the Vittoria Corsa G's. Still like them enough, but the base tapes on them are starting to unravel at the edges from age, I guess.
Using old Vittoria Rallies for "get home" emergency spares.
A couple of my French bikes are sporting Michelin tubulars. Can't really figure out yet how they feel compared to my other tubs, but certainly not as good as the Vittoria Cirsa G's.
