Dude, look at how little bend there is in your elbows!

A longer stem might worth trying. It'll get your more stretched out than low though.

You don't need to change your equipment or position at all to get lower. Just bend your elbows more.

So for breathing do you just try to keep your back muscles nice and flexible? I seem to lose what little power I have when I'm flattened out like that..

Yeah. It's remarkable how conscientious you need to be in order to bend the elbows in the drops.

It's remarkable that it took 3 different people to tell you to bend your elbows more before you listened

I have a relatively low bar for my size because that way I don't think about trying to get low. My back just maxes out and I'm there. I could have the bars higher but then I have to think about getting low.

Also it's much better sprinting on the lower bar height, at least for me.

here's another pic. I wonder how much long it would have taken to get caught had i bent my elbows. I'm quite surprised at how locked my arms were. Gonna be trying to do most stuff in the drops for the next few days so that i can more muscle memory. Sometimes i find extended periods in the drops hurt my triceps. My FTP ain't up there yet, but my weak arms certainly qualifies me as a cyclist.

This is on me rounding a bend on my solo flyer

I heard there was a big crash in the C's at Columbia. What's the story behind that?

Not sure, but someone caused a massive crash, and it was toward the end of the peloton at about 75% into the race. It was a few laps after my solo flyer, and i lost contact with the main group when this happened.

One person had his aluminum wheel taco'ed...

I should also mention that yours truly also struck a pedal rounding the 180 and went down (see ripped left aero shoe cover in picture above). Thankfully, i didn't take anyone else down with me.

Would it kill you to do a little bit of arms @ the gym once a week? That will give you some much needed strength in the arms.

Yeah, i think i'll have to get on that. And some quads workout, too, to improve my jump.

Yup, adaptation and flexibility go a long way to producing power in that position or a very aggressive TT position.

2 powertap units = ******.

and as far as working your arms in the gym...meh. How many pros do you see in grand tours with bulky arms? Doesnt seem to have hurt their "jumps".

Oh yeah, I heard that you guys ran the shortened course again this year. I'm not a fan of that corner (the one that puts you straight into large headwinds, if I'm thinking of the one you are talking about). At least it wasn't raining and freezing.

Sucks that the RR was canceled...it looked like it would have been a gorgeous race.

Here I am this past weekend trying to close a gap with teammate in tow. Looking at this pic, just a little more elbow bend could have really helped. That and dressing properly to avoid racing in my warm up pants.

For road racing?

I think the legs/core are way more important.

Going off the front for about a lap. If only I had known someone had jumped too!
