There's questionable, and then there's stupid..

Two men on one bicycle to be cited after crashing into pickup truck. Video is grainy, but tough to watch...

The bike runs a stop sign on a steep hill, while the pickup truck goes straight through (not a 4-way stop).

Fortunately, the two men (one 19, one 20-something) will live to regret the decision, and hopefully learn.

They have to make up their mind. They first say "bicyclist and his passenger". Then they say "bicyclists". It isn't both. It is one or the other. If one is a passenger, they shouldn't have ticketed him.

In Massachusetts, a passenger can be ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt in a motor vehicle.

Also in Massachusetts, a passenger can be ticketed for not sitting on or astride a permanent seat on a bicycle.

Looks like a descent.. A brake was already hit and the cyclist was pedaling anymore but just not enough to stop the bike.

It was the added weight of the second "occupant" of the bicycle that saved the day: If he had not been there, the bike would have been 1 second ahead, and the crash would have been much worse.
On a more serious note, if they had been keeping to the right, the driver of the NAPA truck would have seen them just fine.
