I have an old bike that I adore. I have searched and search to try to find the history of it but can’t seem to find anything other than an old flyer. Does anyone know anything about this bike?

Get your post count up by telling us a bit about this bicycle. Is this a bicycle you have had for a long time? Since maybe you were in school or was it something you got as an adult? You can start by telling us what size tires are on this bike. You can find the tire size written and sometimes also molded on the rubber of the tire.

one of these Batchtold Brothers two seaters? They seem to be a garden implement manufacturer.
the “Honeymooner” looks like something built to rent on boardwalks and resorts. Looks sturdy like a Worksman.

Sorry, apparently it will only let me post 5 times in 24 hours and it still will not let me upload photos. Yes it is a Bachtold brothers bike and those were the two things that I found in the internet as well, 1 picture and 1 flyer.

Yes it is a two seat side by side red three wheel bike with a canopy. It’s really very pretty. I’ve never actually been much of a bike rider, not even as a kid. But I moved to a small town and thought a 2 seat motor assist bike would be a lot of fun for the summer and maybe give me a little exercise in my life. They are pretty pricey though so this one popped up (actually 2, 1 red and 1 blue) and they sold in under 5 minutes.

My intent was to alter it and make it electric but now I’m not really sure I should. I’m not a collector either clearly but I don’t want to ruin something if I thought it needed to stay the way it is.
It actually came from a home for disabled adults. They said they have had them all these years but couldn’t remember the last time they used them as they have much more updated bikes better suited for the residents needs.

On the other hand, you'll make it a lot more enjoyable with a basic $600 bolt-on e-bike conversion kit thrown on it (even though it's not really worthy of that investment unless you plan to use it regularly). I don't see it being as fun with a throttle assist; I'd recommend pedal assist. Granted, you may have trouble mounting the PAS (pedal assist sensor) to the Ashtabula bottom bracket, but one of the jackshafts may work as a mounting point for the sensor and sensor wheel.

Nope no mower attachment. Definitely just a bike. I did see that the company was known for things more like mowers.
if I was to put that motor assist thing on can you be very specific about what I would need? I know NOTHING! I would like it to be able to pedal and have an assist. After all I did initially buy it for some light exercise :-) .
but I only made it a couple blocks! It’s way harder than I remember a bike being!
still debating if I put it up for auction if it would be better in someone else’s hands though. I really really love the look though !

Though the sensible thing would be to put it on Craigslist. Believe me, it is much harder than any bike should be - though check that your tires are up to correct pressure.

I'm wondering if it's direct drive/fixed gear and backpedaling acts as a brake. And yeah, that wheelchair parking brake situation is probably the "brake", but probably works worse than a pair of badly adjusted Deltas! I know because I had something similar on my go-kart as a kid. ha
