pin-holy hdr Batman! Its interesting with that, there's a part of me that really finds it cool, and another part of me that finds it artificial (but then again, it certainly does render a still more to what we see when we look at a given setting)

re your username, when I was taking photo courses many many moons ago, I remember in one of my classes someone made themselves a pinhole using 8x10 sheets of film for a 8x10 camera, pretty neat results and the contact prints had at least more latitude than what you'd normally see with a pinhole camera using sheets of photo paper (so there's the connection with your username and hdr.....) Contact printing always had a lovely gradation of greys that you wouldn;t get with enlarging using an enlarnger, I only have done this with 4x5 but it must be really nice working with 8x10 negs or larger.

anyway, neat photos and neat setup you have on that folder.
happy riding

Thanks.

I still have 135 and 120 film in the freezer.

8x10 has always been too expensive for me as I don't develop my on films and they are more costly where I am.

I feel the same with HDR.
On the one hand, it brings up the shadows to a level closer to what the eye saw, but on the other, there is that 'lifted' look to it.
A 'necessary evil' for me at this point of my photo taking... I guess..
The photos are not really HDR btw, its recovered from 1 frame.

I've read that software like capture one does better, but I'm kinda locked in with Lightroom atm.

oops, then I was wrong. I have used LR since it came out and it really changed how my editing went, and made things so much easier. I am however now a couple of versions behind the times, so don't know how the more recent ones are, but I always liked how well it works both in being fairly intuitive and how well it worked overall in file prep, but again, I'm out of date, didn't get past 3.

I'm far too sick to do any touring right now, so it's time to delve into the past. These were from Slovenia in 2015:

Piran:

Predjama:

Somewhere in the Julian Alps:

Mangart:

There are 50 hairpins on the Vrsic Pass, and all the ones on the descent were cobblestone. I'm glad it was dry.

Bled. A rather odd name for such a beautiful place.

Ljubljana. Truer words were never spoken.
