Montague Folding Bikes?

This AD was posted on my page while surfing another forum. Montague folding Bikes? I've never heard of them.
Thought I'd throw this link out there to see if maybe any of you have?

If you search this section of the forum you would see that Montague sells some of the toughest folding bikes around. Excellent full sized folders,...

Montague first started selling concentric seat tube folders in a partnership with Schwinn in the early 90's. Here's one of those early folders I converted to mustache bars:

I've played with a few through the years. They came up with the rear rack that detaches and pivots down to hold up the bike---works well. They are a solid frame. Simply folded much easier to fit a couple of bikes in a small SUV or station wagon.

Bargainguy--that frame looks a lot like the Fuji bike that was sold with the Marlboro name on it---are they the same?

No, that's a different design, although it has concentric seat tubes like the Montague. The Fuji is my favorite budget folder from years gone by; I think this one cost me all of $40.

I still have my Fuji Marlboro. I love it and ride it all the time. I think I read somewhere that the Fuji Marlboro was actually designed by Montague which is why it looks a lot like that Schwinn Montague BiFrame.

From the looks of them they take approximately 1/2 of the space a full sized one would, maybe a little less. That would work pretty good for saving space in my full sized Dodge van.

My Montague fits quite nicely into the trunk of my 2006 Jetta. Very convenient

I'm considering a Montague Allston, but am wondering about the single velcro loop 'attaching' the front tire to the rest of the folded hardware. It looks like it would wobble around and possibly even detach from the rest of the 'pack.'

I plan on viewing one in the bike shop before making a decision, just wondered what current Montague owners think about this odd (to me, anyway) aspect of the Montague folding system.

Thanks-

aenlic

I've always liked the Montague bike since full size wheels are preferred to 20' inch wheels. The only time I would not like one is bringing it inside the cabin of a bus. However, if you don't intend to do this, bringing one inside a train is totally possible if you have a bag to cover it.

What Montague wasn't able to control was the price of their bikes which like all others continue to go up each year!!
