I just got a ChangeBike

Just had my ChangeBike 612 delivered from flatbike. Simply amazing! This thing is so light and nimble and fast. Does not feel like I'm riding a folding bike at all. I upgraded to the mtb pedals and wider carbon handlebars. Only had a chance to take it for a quick spin but I am loving this bike.

Looks like some decent engineering there. Doesn't look cheap though.

It's less than I'd expected,...quite nice!

With free shipping too..... I already made 2 mistakes. You live you learn. It came with a piece of plastic on the downtube just below the Change decal. I thought this was part of the shipping so I took it off. The first time I folded the bike the crank hit that very spot and scratched it. oops, guess i'll put that piece back on. The second thing is when I folded it the front brake hit the back tire and presses the brake lever with the wheel off so the pistons got out of whack. I found a 2 year old video on seths bike hacks that showed me how to get the piston back in place so its all set. The bike came with a spacer to put in the front caliper to avoid this so i'll be keeping it in the
small carrying bag attached to the seat post (which also came with the bike)

Sweet bike. Nice tight looking fold for such a large bike. At 27 lbs that is the same weight as my Dahon Curve. I'd be great if you could post a followup of what you like and dislike after a few weeks or months.

Would look great with some slicks on it for commuting.

Oh yes,...an update would be fantastic. And rocking (IMO) fat slicks would be a BEAST!!!

So I've had it four about 2 weeks now and I've gone for about 5 or 6 rides. I'll ride it more if this ridiculous winter ever decides to go away this year. I've taken it on some trails and did some street riding in the city. I feel like a kid again riding down stairs and jumping off stuff. It's a blast! It's my big boy bmx bike. I have no new pics of it in action but here is one in it's new parking space in my kitchen closet. All I can say overall is that I love this bike. Yes a little expensive but so worth it.

Any comment on max tire width on these bikes, esp rear tire? That one comes with 2.1" tires?

Yes it comes with 2.1" wide tires. I don't know the max width tires the wheels will accept? The wheels are Mavic Crossride.

Haha. Of course it isn't. The brand is presented in English and their whole marketing story is built around the concept of "change". Let your "Chinese friend" know that typically this is how Chinese (or in this case Taiwanese) brands create localized translations of English brand names. They choose characters that sound similar and/or have meaning related to the original word or concept of what the words relate to.

These days it would be far better for their marketing to put the Chinese right on there. Would look a whole lot better for it too.

Nice bike.

I was looking at the road version of their folding bike not too long ago.
This was the review I was looking at.

i wonder how it compares to the recently-announced 650b-wheel Dahon when it comes to weight, folded size, and maximum tire clearence. I am hoping to return to Taiwan later this year. I may just pick up an MTB frameset...
