They don't make them in wide sizes, which makes them unusable to me.
The Stealth rubber grip though....it's not messing around. I do believe I could have walked on the ceiling with those shoes had they fit.

I have used the Shimano Saints on my Mountain Bike since 2014. I've since added sets for my road bike and Hybrid. These pedals are rock solid and combined with the 510 freerider's - they are just potent of a setup as a clip in system.

Thoughts on clips/clipless? I've got a Trek DS but I'm going to be putting in a lot of road miles and riding with some roadies who all push being able to clip in. Majority of the time I'll probably just be throwing on my usual sneakers and do casual riding. Should I spend the money to get a hybrid clipless pedal that allows me to do both? I'm on stock pedals now, so I'll probably just go with a cheap platform upgrade regardless for now.

Keeping up with roadies on a DS sounds like it's going to take more than clipping in. Have you been on a ride with them yet?
You could always go with a two way pedal like the Shimano PD T8000 Clip in when you want, Flip to stay free.

Crank brother Double Shots on both of my Surlys. You can use them as flats ( with adjustable inserts), or with eggbeaters style catch. I like eggbeaters on my LeMond, so adding them was easy. Sourced from pinkbike, at 1/2 of street price.

I don't even need pedals, and this thread has got me very tempted to pull the trigger on some Chesters.

Indeed, thread turned out awesome.
So may ideas. I'm starting to reconsider color option, now i'm contemplating introducing a 3rd color into the scheme. I'm leaning on the metallic purple finish, I think it will contrast great with the fluoro yellow. Aside the pedals i've been wanting a quick release seat post collar/clamp, so i may match it to the pedals.
Only problem is the options are spendy for the pedals. I need to find a discount.

Ended up returning Darmoor pedals i ordered, seemed to be just trash. Local bikeservice got me to order Crancbrothers Stamp 2 pedals from them - red color as i wished They seems quite expensive though but guess good pedal is just good.

Just installed a set of DMR Vaults on my DS 3. Reversed all the smooth pin heads up. Measure 4.25 x 4.25 from the crank. They have TRACTION but can still reposition my feet. Logged 28 miles this weekend.

would love to see how the pin profile looks! Love Vaults, Lemon Lime ones are on my short list

Pinned pedals on my MTB, but not on my hybridish bike. I want a smoother pedal for avg road joy riding, so the half mtb toe clips seemed right. Of course, I am going to miss out on riding in sandals....
For my MTB I've been happy with the cheaper RockBros pinned off of ebay, around $30 if I remember correctly:

So after seeing all the Raceface chesters on this thread I ordered them.....just as good a grip as the Saints...and they look great in yellow!
