Wowza.
I remember when I first experienced the 700mm handlebar of my Toughroad and I thought they were way too big, but after about 3 rides over 5 days, I got pretty use to them.
Still I decided to go with a 680mm handlebar and it felt just perfect, which is funny, because prior to my Toughroad, my longest handlebars ever, had been 600mm.
I don't think I would ever feel comfortable riding around the streets on handlebars wider than 720mm, and am convinced that for me, 670 to 680 is the sweetspot.

I also have a 680mm on my Focus, and it being the widest handlebars I've had, I'm pretty sure I don't want any wider. I'm even pretty sure that 780mm would make my commute much harder, as there is one very narrow spot (just wide enough for two bicyclists to pass) with lots of bike and pedestrian traffic that I cross on every ride to and from work, plus my usual route also crosses the Old Town, which is full of people each evening all summer long.

Have added a couple of things since this photo. Still looking for a better seat but this will do for now.

This is the 2017 Raleigh Cadent 2 that I purchased about 3 weeks ago. I think the previous owner had good intentions, but never followed through with actually riding the bike. It still had the rubber strip at the seam down the center of the tires. The addition of a rack, some reflective tape, and removal of the reflectors makes it mine. I think the next thing will be to swap the tires for something a little more capable when I choose to leave the pavement - maybe some Clement X'Plor USH.

Helderberg and Medic, very nice bikes! I love the colors of both of them.

Thanks. I really lucked out. I had lusted over this bike in this color, but never thought I would get one. I had planned on purchasing a new Trek FX later this year which lists for $150 less than the leftover 2017 Cadent 2 is selling for. I was shocked when this bike popped up on Facebook Marketplace (in the correct frame size) for a price lower than bicycle blue book lists in fair condition. It is almost like it was meant to be.

The Selle Italia Gel Flow saddle wasn't doing it for me. Longer rides hurt my sit bones when I started pushing hard. I opted for a Brooks Flyer Imperial. Haven't taken it out for a ride yet, but puttering around my neighborhood felt better.

I've done a 14 mile ride on the rollers and a 15.5 mile ride on a local rail trail since changing to the Brooks Flyer Imperial and I love it right away. It will need a little break-in, but it's already more comfortable than the previous Selle Italia Gel Flow saddle that I was using. I read more about lacing and ended up lacing all of the holes to prevent the edges from moving out from the pressure above. I opted to use the red, white, and blue laces and love the look:

Out and about last night on the 2013 Fuji Absolute 2.1. Still 100 degrees at 7pm, but calm winds and no sun beating down on me. I've been putting a lot more miles on my recently restored 1974 Motobecane Grand Touring road bike, but every time I jump back on the Absolute, I remember why I love riding it so much.

I have ridden this trail with the flatbar Madone a number of times already; this was the first time I rode the Roam on this trail. I still ride my flatbar Madone, but it is true that I ride the Roam more nowadays. I alternate between the flatbar Madone and the Roam during weekend rides, but I usually also ride the Roam during weekdays. The Madone also needs some TLC that I haven't gotten to yet. It needs a new shifter cable, new bolts for the seatpost clamp and stem faceplate and needs the drivetrain cleaned. So I'm riding it a little less for now until I can get it maintained properly. I did ride it last Saturday and will post a pic later.

I posted a few pics on the "Where did you Hybrid take you today" thread, but figured I'd throw a few on here. This is my 2013 Fuji Absolute 2.1 as it stands currently. The orange bike in one of the shots is a friend's 2018 Absolute 2.3.
Cheers,
