The bike trails close to my house.
Crap: my picture looks like an add for erectile dysfunction.
Sucks turning 50.

Made it to a creepy abandoned church hall
Apparently this was the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Hall, built in the late 1880s. I would say it's been abandoned for some time, but the new church building about 400 feet away is doing very well.
The windows were too high off the ground to see into, but around this side they were closer to the ground due to the building starting to sag. As far as I could tell, it was empty except for old curtains on the Windows and some boxes of who knows what in the back.
Anyone from Buffalo, NY, know anything more about this? I would be very interested in getting in; the doorknob was taken off the main door but around back was another door with knob. It's on the corner of Goodrich and Wollcott road in Clarence Center/Pendleton area.

Looks interesting and makes for a good photo with your bike. I don't know much about this place, my rides into Clarence typically start on the pathways into Akron. This is one of the abandoned places that I have not been around the Buff. One of these days I will take a ride there and check it out.
Also, good luck at Ride for Roswell! I'll be there too on the early 30 mile route.

The North South Track is one of Hobart's premier Mountain Bike Tracks. Starts at about 600 metres and winds its way down the side of the ever present Mount Wellington overabout 10 kilometres. Sand, rocks, cobbles stones, it's all there.
38c tires at 50psi aren't exactly the perfect combination to attack this track, but picking some careful lines and a bit of conservatism, and it's all good

Out to the NC Global Transpark, which is the starting point for my rides. I rode my BSO Schwinn Trailway because of the threat of rain, but it cleared and the sun came out just as I got going. I was able to get yet another bike photo with the big Russian cargo plane. I was hoping this AN-124 would have a 4th different design, but it's just like the one that was here 2 weeks ago when I made the 1st plane/bike pic.

After a week of torrential rain, 144 kmh winds and generally very non bike conducive weather woke up this morning to a 72% chance of rain forecast. Yep a forecast is only a forecast and in this case completely incorrect. When a butterfly flaps it's wings.....
Did one of my favourite firetrails while getting a chance to further test the 2.1' Kenda Small Block 8 on the DS.About 400 metres elevation and did it return so could test handling both uphill and downhill. The SB8s have completely changed the bike for the better for the conditions I want it for .

They're BBB Ergostiks smalls .
I originally went to my LBS and they gave me bullhorn style bar ends. I walked back to work, looked at them and thought "they're way too big and will look like sh1t!" Walked back up and got the Ergostiks.
Best $20 I've spend on the DS I reckon. Not too obtrusive and give you lots of different hand positions and a nice platform to push off especially when off the saddle.

Thanks for the pic. I do like that they are pretty low profile but still give some options for hand placement on longer rides. I just wish Trek would come out with a nicely integrated design as standard equipment.

I admit I haven't been riding much lately due to rain, work, or family commitments, but I did get out and ride tonight to my father-in-law's house where we had dinner for my birthday which was yesterday. It was pretty cold and windy for the middle of May. Hope it warms up so I'll have better weather to ride for the rest of the week.

I'd hate to have to do this on the "standard" type grips as it'd involve cutting the ends off the grips, somehow moving the grips inwards without ruining them, making sure you've moved them enough and not too much........

Nice weekend down here visiting friends in the north of the state.
A 15km road ride and a 10km gravel road leads to....
When you get on the other side of the fence you're faced with
The locals assured me they hadn't fired there for a long time so.......
This 5km straight dirt road runs around the outside of the firing range so I figured even if they're firing they wouldn't be blowing up the roads . The road eventually leads to the water front and some little tracks full of fallen trees which was a bit of fun, slippery vegetation under growth and hopping over fallen trees.
But worth if for the views. This is the Bass Strait that seperates us Islanders in Tasmania from the "Big Island" of Australia

@katsup, like the looks of that meandering road on the hill side. Whereabouts are you ?
