56 Miles, It's been 90°+ for the past 5 months, now that it's cooling off I'm having trouble adjusting. It was in the low 70°s today and I started out in arm warmers and a vest. Quickly decided I didn't need them, took them off and was glad I didn't go with leg warmers. I hope I'm ready when it gets below freezing. Hope we don't get 7' of snow like last year.

Working on getting Frankie's speed up for next month's Cross Florida Bike Ride. Rode 60 miles and kept a steady pace that his group would be doing. A few more rides like this and he'll have smooth sailing on that ride. I'm doing the ride also but I'm riding in a faster group.

23.0 miles (37.0k). No ride yesterday, RA flare up, couldn't close my left hand (DOA—Damned Old Age). High 40s to start, the day warms up nicely. Should be in the mid-high 70s thru the weekend (low 50s to start).

Been off the bike since Sunday. Got a stomach flu that I can't seem to shake, dizzy and with chills. Not worth taking the chance. And unfortunately going away tomorrow and won't have a chance to ride until Sunday....I'll either be fresh as a daisy, or starting all over again....

After a full rest day where I did not eat well and a cold front this morning that I underdressed for, I was not exactly into riding far this morning. I decided to stay at my local park and do a couple intervals on the entrance road. I did some high-gear, slow riding in grass as an isometric form workout, then did two sets of "one on/one off" minutes of fast spin/recovery intervals. It was a beautiful, crisp autumn day and I felt I ended the ride very early, only to be shocked to see I rode twenty miles. Wahoo Element arrives tomorrow and I'm excited about that.

44 Miles, up to the Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort again. Long hard climb. Saw a lot of other cyclists up there. Warm today, but might be my last ride up there this year. See how much snow they get and how cold it gets up there.

20 miles Thursday after installing 39T chainring in place of original 42T for hills. Also overhauled the rear derailer, which felt sluggish and tight. Can't say it was faster on hill climbs, but that'll take a few rides to evaluate. Strong wind this evening and my legs felt dead. It did feel a bit easier in the 39/25 combo on the steepest ascent, but that didn't translate to faster.

23 miles bike commuting today. A bit cool this morning but no problem. Continues to be dry. Have ridden every day but one (the day my son got married) in September, so far. My employer is having a cycling challenge this month based on National Bike Challenge.

This is actually from Saturday, but I did a metric century on my 1983 Raleigh Super Course. Part 1 was a breakfast ride with my bike club. Here's a pic of some of us suffering up Oakmonster hill.

Patio weather!

Part 2 was bonus miles after breakfast. I rode out to a new trail extension to check it out.

The new trail is not yet finished and needs some clean up.

A bridge over a creek that dumps into the Trinity River.

The end of the line. For now.

Did one of my regular, 40 mile rides with two of my cycling buddies. As usual, it was nice and toasty with humility in the 80% range with not much of a wind for any help.

I enjoy reading about everyone's daily rides.

I did 26 miles on a beautiful morning. I am very happy with the way I feel and notice positive changes every couple of weeks. I think I am ten weeks in and now to my surprise I am averaging 30+ miles a day. My bike fit just gets better and better and my spin is back.

I've been up and down for the past five weeks or so (caught some generic illnesses from the millions of pilgrims circling in and out of the country, seasonal allergies, and some food poisoning thrown in for good measure,) which sapped and drained away all of my energy and fitness. I was feeling much this morning, though, so I went out for a quick jaunt around the neighborhood - my first ride in three and a half weeks!

Also, I just realized today that I've been clean for exactly 540 days (18 30-days, if we're being technical; I should be celebrating 18 clean months on October 8th.) I smoked my last cigarette on the evening of Friday, April 8th, 2016, before I suddenly decided to quit cold-turkey after 21 years. That was the 40th cigarette from the second pack for that day. I just refused to go out and buy a new pack.

We got a brisk, dry, northerly wind that moderated the temperature and especially the humidity, so today made for a really nice ride. I had to adjust my ride plan because of that strong wind. I Like to start out going against that type of wind, so the rebound was really a breeze with the wind to my back. Got in 107 minutes, and could have done more, but I wanted to save some legs for tomorrow.

The Coast 2 Coast group put together a nice 40 mile training and meet & greet ride for some of the first time riders. Ride went from Citrus Park, FL to the Courtney Campbell Causeway Beach area and back. I thought we were going to do the entire length of the causeway but we turned around just after we went over the bike path/pedestrian bridge. We were suppose to get rained on this morning but Mother Nature looked out for us and gave us blue skies and a nice breeze.

Single rides yesterday and today. Recovery ride only tomorrow as I am feeling pretty whooped. 23.7 miles and my first ride with the Wahoo Elemnt, but I forgot to set wheel size and distance is from the auto mode. I have to say I just love having it and it is great to see my HR and cadence, along with a lot more interesting info.
