Why is this thread allowed to flourish while the much better thread "Deer in the shower" was shut down in seconds?
Like the time there where multiple threads about shants and denim, and I started an "I like pants" thread, which was promptly locked. Fascists.

I sent a friend of mine a link to this thread, he replied thus:

sadly due to the constraints of work, and that googling through hundreds of ******* pictures started to raise quizzical looks amongst my colleagues, I was unable to complete the "ultimate shower" tableau.

Now I do feel that questioning the sanity of bikeforum and producing images like that do show signs of a rather incoherent, oxymoronic thought pattern, but I thought the images were too good not to share.

Also, I am sure you will all be pleased to hear that the original friend that inspired this thread when he called me weird for drinking beer in the shower has now (after reading this thread) seen the error of his ways and agreed to give it a go! - see bikeforum can change lives for the better...

...keep up the good work everyone!

It had been along time until this thread came along.

but then tonight... after two hours of intense cardio workout... and a short but cold and wet ride home...

I took a blazing hot shower, with three smooth cans of PBR... and my only sadness was that my bike couldn't share them both with me.

Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough.

But Iknow she was singing along to Hall & Oates in spirit.

The split infinitive in your critique is a good start.

the rule--or rather, tradition--against split infinitives is silly, pointless, and ill-conceived. the latin infinitive is one word and can't be split. the english infinitive, though, is two. for god knows what reason, we saw that the romans couldn't split their infinitives, and decided we shouldn't split ours.

**** that grammar rule, i say.

I wouldn't have noticed the split infinitive at all, except that it was used in a critique of someone else's grammar. Don't you find that ironic? In an informal forum such as this, matters of grammar, spelling and punctuation shouldn't matter unless the writer's meaning is unclear. I just couldn't resist the urge to tweak the self proclaimed grammar nazi.

Beer is good for hair washing. I don't recommend using it straight out of the fridge.

ah, i get it. that rule just really irks me, so anytime anyone brings up splitting infinitives...i find it really hard to resist going off about it.
