Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fuji deals

Haven't read much about Fuji bikes around here. Performance has a few on sale that look like pretty nice deals:

Altamira 3.0: https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...20000__1650017
SL1 pro: https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...20000__1650017

I think I'm fine with 105 vs. Ultegra, so the Altamira is the first one I'm looking at. Don't know how the frames compare, though. Anybody have experience with these?

I work for a Fuji dealer so I am a little biased. Great bikes for the money. I ride an '09 SL1 with SRAM Red. Great bike. I'm eyeing up an Altamira for the coming year though...or D-6 TT/Tri bike.

I have 09 Roubaix and I love it. The frame is going to be fine, probably made in the same room that every other bike frame is made in

Isn't the new SL-1 made of a "lesser" carbon? C-4? I thought I had heard that the SL-1's from a couple years back were made of better stuff, C-7, and so were more desirable? Is this correct or am I getting my facts wrong?

My SL-1 is made of C10. They no longer do that.

Nothing wrong with the c-4 carbon. I have the 2010 SST 2.0 and it's pretty tough. I ran it into my carport a few months ago. Tore the rack right off my car but the bike is perfectly fine. It was the seat that hit so nothing happened to the bars and the seat is still like new.

This year's batch of Fuji bike are just ugly. Don't know who the paint designer is for Fuji, but their bikes look like they came from Walmart. I know they are great bikes and a great value...their paint schemes are just horrendous.

But for those prices you can get this :
