Spitting rain and 20+ mph winds and a wet neighborhood, but I had to get out there after missing yesterday .
goal is met . With the weather changing my goal may have to shrink a little next month . Around here we’ve got to where we only have a week or maybe two of fall weather . We go from 95+ to the rainy season , right into winter .
I think I may look at buying a trainer for the garage.

30 miles today

243 for the month, 11,890 ft of gain.

My goal for next month is not the amount of miles but to add in some bigger elevation gain numbers.

It doesn’t look like I’ll be making my goal this month. It will be cold and wet for the rest of the month. It’s probably time for me to look into Zwift.

Will we have a thread in November to post our progress?
Thanks for providing me and others a place where we can post our progress and no one looks down on folks who's riding totals aren’t as many miles as others .
Here in Georgia this time of year , you never know what the weather is going to be like . We can be freezing one day and seventy the next . So I’ll have opportunities to ride some days .
I’ve ordered an inexpensive trainer for the garage to keep the legs active .

Oh yeah, I'm sure there will be a thread. And feel free to start one yourself, if you'd like. I just started doing them a few months back because I had some miles I wanted to report and the thread hadn't been started yet.

I imagine winter weather here in North Texas is similar to what you have in Georgia, or most of the South, for that matter. It was in the mid 80s here on my afternoon ride last Saturday. This Saturday it will be in the 40s.

Thanks Matt for starting this every month .
There’s an old saying around here about the weather , “ if you don’t like the weather today , give it 24 hours , it’ll be totally different” .
I’ll be watching for the new thread and will post when the weather allows .
It encourages me to get out there and do it .

If you can ride on a trainer for more than 30 minutes, you're a better man than me, Charlie Brown.

Goal: 500
MTD: 411
Climbed: 20,579 ft
Rides: 12
YTD: 5,462
YTD Climbed: 237,907 ft (or 45 miles)

Starting to get into some longer rando stuff. Put aero bars on my gravel bike, makes the headwinds much easier. Based on the forecast, I won't be hitting my goal this month, but I had a good month of riding.

That’s probably why I haven’t purchased a trainer yet. I think Zwift *might* help make it less boring.

Busy with work and business travel in the early part of October and didn't get any miles in. My last ride of the month was cut short (5 miles) because of a fall. Looks like I'm done for the year. I broke my collarbone. 6-8 weeks to heal. I don't know yet if it will require surgery. I've got a sling and a referral to an orthopedist. And a CD with my x-rays (souvenir?). Not sure what I could view them on.

I’m sorry to hear that...no fun at all! I wish you a speedy recovery.

Thanks Matt , just got home from Doctor. No breaks, just bruises and a brace . Should be back on the bike in a couple of weeks, I hope . Road rash on both knees, bruised ribs on right side and swollen right hand . Trying recall what happened, I must have hit a slick spot on the asphalt just as I turned to go uphill.
