Built up the cockpit for for the vintage drop bar mountain/urban/adventure bike. SRAM X0 trigger shifters are a pain because they only fit 22mm bars. This is my all Nitto solution to shift from multiple positions.

Always nice to see another Reus. That is an older frame, is it not? Based mostly on the markings. How about some more shots

Finally got the Mondia together and ready to roll. I tried the Wolftooth derailleur extender to fit a 32 freewheel, but I dont like the look so off it comes.

Nice job, Manny. Bring the extender to Pasadena next time and I'll buy it. I wasn't sure if it would work with old school Campy. Missed you last weekend.

Each sand polish step takes minutes, max. let paints dry enough, and wet sand slowly, or you'll have to paint again. To fill in the corrosion pitting on a small scale I stick with the color coat, in thin layers, but they make easy sanding, "high build" primers.

Clear coat if wanted, and can go to 2000 plus grit to match existing surface if necessary.

What's the bike???
Hey, thanks for the tips. That’s more or less what I had planned, the powder coat is just a bit of a harder finish than I’m used to, it’ll take a bit more care to feather in the new paint (nail polish maybe?).

The bike is a ‘71 Raleigh International 650b conversion, moving to a 2x11 build now versus the previous 3x7.

Today:
Once the acrylic sets a bit more I’ll do a final pass of mineral spirits to try to crisp the lettering a bit.

Late seventies to early eighties, would be my guess, based on the under-the-BB cable routing, the recessed brake bolts and the portacatena holes.

I bought it a long time ago, and didn't take any pics at the time, alas. So all I have to offer for now is the result of a test fitting of a saddle and stem I did today, to see if I could get it to fit mrs non-fixie. If she likes it I will proceed with the build, in which case more pics will be forthcoming. Could be a while, though.

I guess you could say with the first early days of sunshine I have been ‘bike geeking’ rather committing to long rides. Actually, making notes about maintenance.

Started the rotation today with neighborhood jaunts - the yellow one, blue one, red one, green one!

Finally getting around to cleaning the chrome on my early 70’s Sekine project. Forks first, rear next. Came out nice!

Love this green, dark in the shade but brightens up considerably in the sun.

It all started Nov 26, 2018 when I sent 1 of 3 payments to RobbieTunes for this Torelli frameset. I finally sent it to get cables installed after it sat untouched for the past 4 months.

I really liked hazetguy McDonald's themed Trek so I wanted one too.

Here it is. I'll take daytime pics tomorrow.

33 mile club ride on the '73 Super Course, 84° in eastern Ventura County today. Maybe rain for Sunday's Pasadena Vintage ride?

I've been working on what I have been told is a Gran(d) Sport(s). The bike is a bit small for me, but the seat post can compensate with upright bars. It has a damaged top tube (looks as if it was clamped in a half-a++ vise mechanism), has been repainted, and has bottle braze-ons but no top tube cable guides. It also has Zeus drop-outs and fork ends. Tomorrow should be warmer and less windy - I'll give a test ride then.

Noon time ride.....work from home due to shelter in place, means need to make ride and noon part of the routing in lieu of commuting.

That's the plan. Might have to put up plastic sheeting "walls" for the time being. Soaked the plate down with boeshield and will tape trashbags over it till I can get to big orange for supplies.

Rought estimate puts it over 500 lbs.

Not moving it again with out an engine hoist.
