Shimano dynamo for rim brakes?

Anyone know what Shimano is offering for rim brake dynamo hubs? I was looking for a Deore LX dynamo hub and it looks like they are discontinued. Is anything in the lineup comparable? Thanks

I heard they discontinued them. Might have to ask a bike shop or go through ebay

The German online retailers still have them but shimano won't let them ship to the US anymore. Just get an SP.

last time I looked, the German online retailers were the cheapest place to get an SP too.

I was wondering how the current offerings compared? Do the disk hubs need much dish with out the rotor mounts installed?

I saved a LOT two and a half years ago buying an SP from Germany. After paying then international shipping I think I still saved 25 to 30 percent, although that varies with the currency markets. And once that savings paid for the shipping cost, suddenly a lot of other stuff on their website looked pretty good too.

If you look at an SP, you should be able to look at a technical drawing with dimension data. Not sure which model you would want, but here is an example.

They need the same amount of dish with and without the disc mounted. I didn't think it was an inordinate amount of offset. I use the SP disc hubs on my gravel bike and my mountain bike. The mountain bike takes some side load occasionally, with no apparent issue.

I'm a big fan of the wide flange SON hubs, but you can't have wide flanges with a disc, obviously.

I built up a wheel using the shimano DH-3n72 hub a couple of years ago, seems to be plenty of those still around. I don’t know if they are discontinued or not. It’s rim brakes only 32 or 36 hole.

Do you know why? Are they still going to be making them for disks?

I usually get my dynamo stuff from rosebikes, they have no Shimano hubs now. Starbike still have a good range.

I heard they discontinued in favor of disc only. I may be spreading bad info, I'll ask at the bike shop if I remember.
